AVIT Chennai Admission Process

The curriculum that AVIT offers practices the Choice Based Credit System framework. The programmes are offered in alliance with reputed industries in order to prepare them for the technical workspace. AVIT emphasises on Multidisciplinary Research to endow the academic research community.

The different scholarships are available for the different programmes are listed below. The candidates must choose them as per their course and the type of scholarship which they are eligible for. Different Choices for Admissions

1. VMRF Smart 2022 - 2023

VMRF stands for Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation Students' Merit Assessment and Ranking Test (for Engineering). This is a scholarship that is granted to the meritorious and deserving candidates to empower the future generation with high quality education. 

2. The SMART EDGE 

Another scholarship for the students to avail easy admission is the Smart Edge. In this scholarship, the top 25 rank holders will get a waiver of 75% off on the tuition fee. The rank holders from 26 to 100, will get a waiver of 50% in the tuition fee. This is a great way and an amazing opportunity for the students to score good marks and get the tuition fee deduced to almost half.

The minimum eligibility is 60% in qualifying examination for availing this scholarship. The candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering courses should have passed 10+2/Intermediate or Equivalent Examination. Candidates appearing for April/May 2022 exams can also apply. The candidates can avail scholarship based on 10+2/Intermediate or Equivalent Examination overall aggregate/VMRF-SMART ranking whichever is higher. 

3. Merit Scholarship 

The candidates who are interested in taking B.E/B/Tech admissions in AVIT Chennai must have completed 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by any State Board, Central Board of higher Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi). Or they could have cleared the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE, New Delhi);.

National Institute of Open Schooling; Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board / University, High School Certificate Examination of the University of Cambridge or equivalent.

Apart from this, the candidates with a Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or its equivalent are eligible to apply for admission to the third semester of B.E. /B.Tech. in the branch corresponding to the branch of study. Also, the graduates in B.Sc, (10+2+3 stream) are eligible to apply for admission to the third semester of B.Tech.

The scholarship scheme of the college includes higher educational national merit scholarships in tuition fee for the B.E and for the B.Tech students.

In this scholarship, 100% scholarship or 100% waiver in the tuition fee will be given to the students who are basically the 10+2 topper from each State/Union Territory(applicable only for 1st year). Scholarship worth ₹5 crores (approx.) has been bestowed through AV Higher Education Scholarship Scheme in the past five years. More than 3000 students have benefitted through this scheme.

AVIT Chennai Campus

All of the University's campuses are meant to be environmentally friendly and maintained with huge gardens and recycled water plantations. The university's whole campus is designated as a no-smoking zone. AVIT is located on Rajiv Gandhi Salai (Old Mahabalipuram Road) about 50 kms from Chennai.

It has a beautiful surrounding of the lush green campus and along with that, it also has IT giants such as Wipro, TCS, INFOSYS and Cognizant, and many more as its onlooking neighbours. The strategic location of these companies is helpful to engineering students for training as well as placements.

Lots of technical activities are arranged for the college students seminars, industrial visits, training programme through the technical associations of the various departments.

Some of the socially active programmes held by the college for the betterment of the students and the society are blood donation camps, village adoption programmes and literacy programmes.

AVIT Chennai Hostel

The college has hostel facility for boys and girls in individual blocks each with the capacity of 1000 and 400 respectively. This means that the number of rooms for the boys in the hostel is 1000 and for the girls, 400 rooms are available. The hostel has a mess for providing nutritious and healthy food the students. The mess offers North Indian and South Indian cuisines to the hostelites.

Utmost care is taken when it comes to the quality, taste, and nutrition of the food items being prepared inside the mess. We ensure that students get tasty and healthy food just like their homes and we take all serious measures to not compromise with the health of our students.

The students need to be present inside the mess for all the the meals. The meals have strict timelines and the students need to be present during those timelines. Separate gymnasium for boys and girls is available in the hostel. An ambulance facility is also available round the clock.

Security inside the hostel is always taken care of. There is a warden inside the hostel campus for the girls and a ward boy for the boys to take care of their needs and also to keep an eye on them.

There is a strict time to maintain for the entry and exit in the hostel premises. Prior permission needs to be taken to be out for longer hours. There is an ATM Center is established in the campus through ICICI Bank. The vibe of the hostel is created in a way that healthy home kind of ambiance is there for the students where they feel they are staying in their homes away from their homes.

Inside the rooms of the hostel, all the basic facilities are given like cot, cupboard, tables, etc. There is bathroom and rest rooms available inside the hostel. Along with this, a common chilling centre is available separately for the boys and the girls. 

The students who do not belong to the hostel need permission to meet anyone from the hostel in the hostel premises. We are quite uptight about our rules and regulations only for the security of the students. But, we make sure to not let any of these come in between the fun lives of the students.
