BMS College of Law Bangalore - Great ideas donot happen just like that and when they happen it only means one thing and that is something great is going to happen. This indeed stands true with regards to BMS College of Law which began its innings in 1963. The college was established by B.S. Narayan, donor trustee of BMSET under the aegis of B M Sreenivasaiah Educational Trust.
It is interesting to note that the Trust is named after a great visionary Dharmaprakasha Rajakaryaprasatha Sri B M Sreenivasaiah, it is the vision of this great personality that was instrumental in laying the foundation stone for the first private engineering college in Karnataka.
The name of B M Sreenivasaiah has reached all corners of Karnataka state, he occupies a prominent place in the history of Karnataka and is well-known as a philanthrophist and a visionary educationist. His services have attracted praises from various sections of the society at all times.
Saying goes that whatever deeds the noble personalities do have something good to offer to the society at large. The college began in a humble manner and gradually moved to become what it is today.
Great luminaries from the legal world - Justice M.N. Venkatachalaiah, former Chief Justice of India, Justice Rama Jois, former Chief Justice of Haryana and Punjab High Court, Justice S R Nayak, former Chief Justice of High Court of Chhattisgarh have served the institution in various capacities including as faculty members.
The courses offered here are BA LLB, BCom LLB and LLB. BA LLB and BCom LLB are of five year duration and LLB is of 3 year duration. Candidates who have passed plus-two from a recognised educational institution can apply for the five year courses, students who have passed bachelors can apply for LLB course.

There are many reasons for this. The college provides good deal of undergraduate courses and students can choose from them keeping in mind their interest. The candidates who pass plus-two or its equivalent from a recognised educational institution can apply for it. These courses are taught by faculty who are experts in their respective subjects. The educational institution offers lot of courses at undergraduate level for which students who have fulfilled the required condition of eligibility can apply. The condition of eligibility depends upon the type of the course the candidate wishes to apply through the admission process. On a general note, candidates who have passed plus-two can apply for integrated five year law courses, the three year law course application requires a pass in graduation. The admission process begins with ensuring that required eligibility criteria to apply for various courses is fulfilled. Post ensuring that required eligibility condition is fulfilled, candidates can appy for courses at the college. The process to submit application is online. Students who wish to apply online can visit the website of the college and create an account by clicking the appropriate link for registration.
The account must comprise username and password. Post account creation, students have to login and then fill the application form. Documents required are to be uploaded and the registration fees has to be paid after filling the application and then form has to be submitted. Students who wish to submit applications in the offline mode, can visit the college premises in person and procure the form.
The form can be filled in the college and submitted there itself or it can be filled in the home and then sent to the college by post or courier. The candidates who are applying for 5 year law courses have to appear for BMSCLAT and pass it with required score (required qualifying marks).
Those who pass with required qualifying marks will be called to take part in an interview. Candidates who have applied for LLB course would be provided admission based on performance in the qualifying exam.

Candidates have to check the eligibility for the exam and ensure they are fulfilling it so as to minimize the chances of rejection of their application at a later stage. The condition of eligibility can be checked from the notification in connection with the exam which would be available at the official website for the exam established by the organisation conducting the exam. Post, ensuring the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria, candidates can follow the procedure mentioned below:
3A. Sometimes after confirmation, candidates may receive an One Time Password (OTP) either on their mobile phone or email after submission of registration form. In that case, they can enter the OTP and receive the final confirmation of submission of registration form and the details about username and password created.

6. Post uploading of the documents, candidates can pay the registration fee using the online modes like credit card, debit card and net banking and obtain confirmation. After obtaining the confirmation, candidates can check for errors in the application and rectify them if any. Post rectification/verifying, application can be submitted and confirmation for successful submission can be obtained.
