Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (Sir MVIT) in Bangalore was founded in 1986 and is a well-known institute in Karnataka. Sir MVIT is located on a 133-acre campus near the Air Force base in Yelahanka, close to Bengaluru International Airport, on Bellary Road (21 km from Bangalore city station). The institute features about 260 well-experienced faculty members, well-equipped labs (including project labs), and seminar rooms, with over 2800 students (For each department adequately equipped with multimedia facilities).

The campus of the college is quite unique with all the modern facilities one could ask for. The facilities inside the college are library, cafeteria, hostel, sports complex, labs, gym, shuttle service, hospital, wifi campus, and medical services as well.

The college pays extra care for the extra curricular activities like the performing arts and theatre group. They also have hobby clubs and professional society activities. GAP is the official theatre group of Sir MVIT.

Activities like one-act play, skit, mime, mock rock, full-length play and street play are performed through this club in the campus. The college has represented the college in the VTU Annual Youth Festival in the forms one-act play, skit, and mime for more than 10 years.

GAP has been a master in Street plays which is conducted in annual cultural fests of different colleges and has won 1st and second place in colleges like RV, BMSCE, PESIT as well as in MVIT (Kalanjali). GAP has actively participated in all competition related to theatre. GAP is also popular for its Annual Productions. Every year GAP performs a full-length play in a professional theatre “ADA Rangamandira”. This production is open to all Bangalore audience.

The hobby clubs inside the college are Leo club, Abhikalpana, Riposte Dance club, Shutterbugs, MVIT QUILLZ, Eco club, entrepreneur cell, and Techhub.
