NEET

NEET is an abbreviation for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. It is an undergraduate entrance test for admission to the medical colleges of the country for medical courses. It was formerly called the All India Pre-Medical Test. This test is conducted at an all-India level. The students who wish to do undergraduate programmes in medicine in India will have to pass this test to go further.

The exam is for the courses like MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH (BAMS, BUMS, and BHMS). The exam scores are valid for both government and private medical institutions of the country. It is also for students who intend to pursue primary medical qualifications abroad.

NEET exams are conducted by NTA or the National Testing Agency. They provide the results to the Directorate General of Health Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and State Counselling Authorities for seat allocation.

Before NEET was introduced as the national-level medical entrance exam for the UG courses, every state of India used to conduct their entrance tests. Famous medical colleges like AIIMS, JIPMER, etc used to conduct their separate medical test as well.

NEET 2022

So, the latest and one of the best news for medical aspirants out there has been rolled out in the NEET 2022 exam notification. The news is that different states Haryana, UP, etc will give free coaching to the medical aspirants. The government of these states are going to do this for the aspirants. But, this coaching is for only the students falling into the financially weaker sections of society.

This decision about NEET 2022 has been taken by the government because NEET is one of the toughest exams to crack. It needs a lot of hard work, time, proper guidance, and practice. The students take coaching to pass this course but not everyone can take up coaching.

This is because the NEET coaching fee is usually on the higher side. So, to make it easier for the financially weaker students, the government has taken this step. Both the central and the state governments have taken this decision together.
