Overlooking the deep blue sea cradled by the Bay of Bengal and tucked in the scenic drive way of east coast road is AMET. The one and only University from India to be a member of the International Association of Maritime Universities.

With quality, commitment, knowledge and excellence as its corner stones, AMET had a humble beginning in the year 1993 with just 14 cadets moulded for a career in merchant navy through a Higher National Diploma programme in marine engineering.

AMET’s uncompromising strides of excellence in the field of maritime education and training laced with its capacity to feed the global shipping industry with an unrivalled maritime human resource secured it the status of becoming the first Deemed to be University in India for maritime education, training, research and development activities on the 21st August 2007.

AMET had the privilege and unprecedented status of getting unveiled as a Maritime Deemed to be University from the hands of the secretary general of the International Maritime Organization, Mr.Efithimios E Mitrapoulos.

AMET serves as an ocean of knowledge for over 3000 students pursuing Programmes ranging from diploma to Doctoral programs through 4 schools and 2 intensive research and training centers for marine and marine related activities. Admission Eligibilitty Criteria

Academy of Maritime Education and Training University Chennai Eligibility

B.SC - Physics, Chemistry, and Maths with at least 60% aggregate and English with 50% marks. The age must be below 25 Years. A passport is required.

BBA - 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks

B.COM - 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks

B.Voc - 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks

M.Sc - Bachelor's degree in Science (Botany, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Zoology, Bioinformatics Tech, Biotechnology) Medicine and Agriculture qualified with 55% of aggregate scores with Biology / Life Science as Main or Ancillary Subjects.

The admission happens through the both offline and online mode. For the offline mode, the students have to visit the campus of the college and do the needful for the admission from the college office.

For the online mode, the students have to follow the below mentioned steps.

The students have to visit the official website of AMET University.
The next step is to go to the Application Forms page in the Admission head.
Then the students have to register themselves by submitting their General professional and personal details. All the information updated must be correct by all means because their application might be rejected during the cross correction process if anything entered is wrong.
The students have to then submit their OTP that they have received on their mobile and then they will be redirected to the application forms.
Then the students have to click on ‘Apply Now or Download’.
Fill the form and upload it.
Take the printout of the form for any future reference.
