Amity Group was started in 1986 as a vision by Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan who is a an industrialist, a visionary, and a philanthropist. It all started with his dream of a movement called Amity to revolutionize education and research across India and the world. Cut to now, the group has across 11 universities and 28 Schools and Pre-Schools offering 400+ programs.
The colleges and schools of this group are present in over 23 states. The global campuses of this group are in the countries like London, New York, Singapore, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, San Francisco, Singapore, Amsterdam, Tashkent and South Africa.
Amity comprises scientists and researchers have filed over 1,300 patents - by far the highest number of patents filed by any individual Indian institute. In the field of management, the university has developed more than 3,200 case studies in recent years that have been bought in 106 countries by over 2,300 leading institutions and organizations.
They have pioneered the concept of industry-led institutions where leading organizations such as the multinational conglomerate Tata, the UK’s Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) have set up institutions in partnership with Amity on campus. Amity has instituted India’s largest private scholarship programs, benefitting over 25,000 students.
Amity has also set a new standard of academic excellence in India by becoming Asia’s only not-for-profit university awarded by US Regional Accreditation as well as India’s only university to be accredited by the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.
This is the eleventh university to be established by the not-for-profit Amity Foundation. It is a multi-disciplinary university that offers UG, PG and Doctoral Programmes. Amity has earmarked an investment to the tune of INR 700 crores for the development of the University along with the previously established Amity International School, Mohali. They have a highly qualified faculty led by distinguished Vice Chancellor. The college has a curriculum designed in line with the New Education Policy 2020.

Amity University Punjab has a world class campus with a state of art infrastructure which is spread across 40 acres of land. They have all the amenities to make sure that they give an unparalleled on-campus experience to their students.

There are research centres in the campus for the research students. They have established 50 hi-end Research Centres in diverse domains of Applied Science, Technology, Management and Liberal Arts. These Centresare striving to commercially scale up innovations to find solutions to some of the most pressing issues affecting the world.

There is a tight security in the campus of the college. They have the facilities of smart cards, biometric readers, the latest IP cameras, fire warning systems, 24-hour guards, and patrolling gypsy. Students carry a chip-enabled smart card which not only allows access into the Campus but can also be used as an e-wallet in the cafeteria, book shops, etc.
Amity University has always had a ‘No Ragging’ environment. Anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging is punished as per law. They have a ragging-free campus. The University has adopted stringent anti-ragging measures and provisions leading to strict punishments for offenders. The students, faculty, and staff are sensitized on what constitutes ragging and the punishments associated with ragging.
The students have to submit two anti-ragging affidavits (signed by him/her& his/her parent), go through the Anti-ragging booklet on Amizone, provide acknowledgment of having read the booklet, and then only can get registered for the Programme/Semester.
The University level Anti-Ragging Monitoring & Execution Cell monitors all Institutional level Committees and ensures that Anti- Ragging Patrols, consisting of Proctors, Campus Marshals & Security Personnel operate 24 hours on all days in the Campus and also in various hostels, lodges, PG accommodation clusters outside the Campus, particularly, where freshers’ are staying. An anti-ragging control room is established which can be contacted 24 x7.
There are a lot of students led clubs and organisations for the students to take part in. The college runs a variety of clubs and committees where students showcase their leadership and organizing skills, creativity, knowledge, and talent.
These student-driven clubs and committees are formed at the beginning of every academic year and perform independently under the guidance of faculty. The presence of a wide range of clubs and committees is a unique feature and works as a significant platform for the all-around performance and development of the students at large.
Some of the many clubs of the college are dance club, dramatics clommittee, academic club, quiz committee, seminar club, sports club, debating clubs, economics and IQ club, bioscience club, social awareness club, discipline committee, poetry club, wildlife club, gaming club, programming club, art and craft club, pro active forensic club, envier health, literary club, and lots more.
