Srinivas University is a private university in Mangalore, Karnataka. This university is an initiative of A. Sharma Rao Foundation. There are lot of reasons to choose this institution for pursuing higher education. The college offers undergraduate courses in engineering and students who have the required eligibility condition can apply for them. Those who have passed plus-two from a recognized educational institution submit applications to gain admission in undergraduate courses. These courses are taught by faculty who are highly qualified and they leave no stone unturned to ensure students get the best of the knowledge. BTech Computer Science Engineering Passed in PUC/Higher secondary examination (10+2 pattern) or appearing in the current academic year with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects from any state board within India, CBSE, ICSE, with minimum 45% aggregate for General and 40% aggregate for SC/ST in PCM. Admission needs valid score in SUAT.
  Civil Engineering

Candidates passing HSC (Standard XII) examination of Karnataka State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have secured minimum 45 % marks in physics, Chemistry & Mathematics added together. For SC/ST candidates, minimum marks required is 40% in physics, Chemistry & Mathematics added together.

Candidates passing Diploma in Engineering / Technology examination with minimum of 45% marks from the Polytechnics affiliated to AICTE approved Polytechnics are eligible for the Lateral Entry Admission for B.TECH. program in the 2nd year. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum marks percentage required is 40% in Diploma.

  Electronics and Communication Engineering

A pass in the 10+2 (Higher Secondary) examination or any other equivalent examination of any authority, recognized by Srinivas University, with an aggregate of 50% of marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.(45% in case of SC/ST candidates). Admission needs valid score in SUAT/CET.

Lateral Entry:

The candidates, who have successfully completed 3 year diploma in Engineering, are eligible to apply for lateral entry into 2nd year of B.Tech. Lateral Entry: Admission of Diploma holders to II year (III semester) Candidate who has passed Three years Polytechnic Diploma Examination conducted by the Board of Technical Education of any state in the following branches can be admitted to the second years (III semester) programme:

5. Candidates with two years Diploma from a recognized Government Board in a subject for which the candidate desires to enrol, in respect to B.Sc. Cardiovascular Technology shall have passed plus 2 [10+2] with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, as principal subjects or candidates with 3 years diploma from a recognized Government Board in a subject for which the candidate desires to enrol.
6. Lateral entry to second year allied health science courses for candidates who have passed Diploma program from the Government Boards and recognized by University, fulfilling the conditions specified under Sl. No. 5 are eligible to take admission on lateral entry system only in the same subject studied at diploma level.
Admission to B.Sc.Cardiovascular Technology will be based on the results of Srinivas University Entrance Test (SUET) held in that year.

 

Anaesthesia & OT Technology

A pass in plus-two from a recognised educational institution with subjects as biology, physics and chemistry.

 

Medical Imaging Technology

A candidate seeking admission to B.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology should have completed the age of 17 as on 31st December of the year of admission and have studied English as one of the principle subject during the tenure of the course

  • A Candidate who has secured at least 50% marks in aggregate either in the Bachelor’s Degree / or in the Master’s Degree in Science/Social Science/ Humanity OR any degree shall be eligible for admission to the degree of Bachelor of Education. Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other Qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the B.Ed Degree.
  • There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST/Category-1/Physically disabled candidates.
  • Rules regarding admission, entrance examination, intake, eligibility, reservations, proportions for different subjects and related norms will be as laid down by the NCTE and the Government of Karnataka from time to time and notified by the University shall be followed.

The institution offers postgraduate courses in engineering, science and commerce and students who have the required eligibility condition can apply for them. Those who have passed bachelors degree in the relevant from a recognised educational institution can submit applications to gain admisison in postgraduate courses. A candidate shall have Masters Degree or any other Degree / Diploma of the University or any other Degree / Diploma of any other University / Institution recognized as equivalent thereto, with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or an equivalent Grade. However, this condition is relaxed to 50% in case of belonging to SC/ST/Cat.-I candidates

 

DSC- Degrees of Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.)/ Doctor of Science (D.Sc.)

Computer Science and Engineering

The applicant for enrolment must have A Doctoral degree (Ph.D./DBA) from a recognized Indian or foreign University in the relevant discipline provided that :

(1) He/she presently active in research/teaching with a minimum period of six years after obtaining Ph.D. /DBA degree, in the Department of this University or other Universities or Affiliated colleges or Institutions recognized for purpose of advanced research, located in India or abroad.

(2) The publications submitted by him/her for consideration for the award of D.Litt./D.Sc. degree are substantially the result of Post-Doctoral research work carried out during this period.

(3)  He should have published at least 10 research publications as first author in refereed, peer reviewed, indexed journals preferably approved by UGC. The proposed D.Litt./D.Sc. thesis shall be related to these published papers.

*However, the total number of published papers (first author & joint author together) should be proportionate to the duration after obtaining Ph.D. calculated at the rate of one paper per every completed year. Books are not treated as substitute for research paper. Aspiring candidates may submit the eligibility checklist provided as Annexure.

A candidate already holding D.Sc../D.Litt.  degree in a particular discipline is eligible to register for D.Sc./D.Litt. in another discipline after a gap of two years provided that evidence of standard publications as per fresh eligibility are produced in the second discipline in which he/she intends to submit for D.Sc./D.Litt. degree.

 

PhD

Hotel Management

For Fresh Candidates :

(a) It is desirable that the applicants who possess minimum prescribed qualifications for admission to Ph.D. programme, should also have an excellent academic/ professional attainment in the relevant discipline.

(b) The applicant for Part-time Ph.D. should:

(i) prove to the satisfaction of DRC that his official duties permit him to devote sufficient time for research.

(ii) ensure that facilities for pursuing research are available at his place of work in the chosen field of research.

(c) An applicant who was initially registered for the M.Phil. Programme of this University and whose CGPA is at least 7 in Course Work of M.Phil. programme, may be considered for admission to the Ph.D. programme without completing M.Phil. programme on specific recommendations of  DRC and subject to approval by the University Research Council. In such cases, there is no need to repeat the course work for Ph.D.

(d) Candidates already registered for Ph.D. with other Universities approved by UGC can transfer the registration on producing No objection certificate from that university, and subject to the approval of the Vice chancellor. Once admitted the existing rules and regulations shall be applicable. However, the date of registration will be considered to be the original date of registration with the previous university.

(e) A valid score in the Entrance test conducted by the University is necessary in all the above cases.

For candidates migrating from other universities :

Applicants who have already registered for Ph.D. with other Universities are allowed to migrate provided they fulfil the following conditions:

  • The university where they have registered already is recognized by UGC,
  • Submit NOC (No Objection Certificate) from that university along with the original registration certificate,
  • Secure pass in the entrance examination conducted,
  • Register afresh paying the prescribed registration fee, and
  • Pay prescribed annual course fee at the beginning of each year.

The date of registration as shown in the NOC shall be counted for the pupose of calculating the time required to com[plete the course.

The subject/area/field of study shall remain without change.

M.Phil. Degree holders from other University will have to take the entrance examination and they are admitted subject to passing examination. The duration of the M.Phil. course shall be a minimum of one year for full-time program and two years for part time program. The course work pattern for M.Phil. shall be the same as for Ph.D. course work.

Minimum qualifications for admission:

(a) The required minimum qualification for admission to a Ph.D. programme shall normally be a two year Master’s Degree in the subject/relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade (50 % for SC, ST or those who have minimum ten years teaching/industry experience). Or Pass in M.Phil. Degree in respective subject with 55% marks after completion of Masters Degree.

(b) In exceptional cases, Department Research Committee (DRC) may propose any other suitable qualifications/ requirements in specific areas, consistent with the norms of UGC, AICTE and other statutory bodies, to URC for its recommendation to the Academic Council for approval*.

*Provided that where the minimum eligibility criteria for admission laid down by various Statutory/Regulatory bodies is higher than the minimum eligibility criteria as prescribed above, the criteria laid down by such Statutory Bodies will be followed.

(e) A valid score in the Entrance test conducted by the University is necessary in all the above cases.

For candidates migrating from other universities :

Applicants who have already registered for Ph.D. with other Universities are allowed to migrate provided they fulfil the following conditions:

The applicant for enrolment must have A Doctoral degree (Ph.D./DBA) from a recognized Indian or foreign University in the relevant discipline provided that :

(1) He/she presently active in research/teaching with a minimum period of six years after obtaining Ph.D. /DBA degree, in the Department of this University or other Universities or Affiliated colleges or Institutions recognized for purpose of advanced research, located in India or abroad.

(2) The publications submitted by him/her for consideration for the award of D.Litt./D.Sc. degree are substantially the result of Post-Doctoral research work carried out during this period.

(3)  He should have published at least 10 research publications as first author in refereed, peer reviewed, indexed journals preferably approved by UGC. The proposed D.Litt./D.Sc. thesis shall be related to these published papers.

*However, the total number of published papers (first author & joint author together) should be proportionate to the duration after obtaining Ph.D. calculated at the rate of one paper per every completed year. Books are not treated as substitute for research paper. Aspiring candidates may submit the eligibility checklist provided as Annexure.

A candidate already holding D.Sc../D.Litt.  degree in a particular discipline is eligible to register for D.Sc./D.Litt. in another discipline after a gap of two years provided that evidence of standard publications as per fresh eligibility are produced in the second discipline in which he/she intends to submit for D.Sc./D.Litt. degree.

 

MCA Master of Computer Applications

A pass in graduation in the relevant discipline from a recognised educational institution. Students of allied disciplines like BSc Computer Science/BSc Electronics can also apply.

PhD Computer Science

For Fresh Candidates :

(a) It is desirable that the applicants who possess minimum prescribed qualifications for admission to Ph.D. programme, should also have an excellent academic/ professional attainment in the relevant discipline.

(b) The applicant for Part-time Ph.D. should:

(i) prove to the satisfaction of DRC that his official duties permit him to devote sufficient time for research.

(ii) ensure that facilities for pursuing research are available at his place of work in the chosen field of research.

(c) An applicant who was initially registered for the M.Phil. Programme of this University and whose CGPA is at least 7 in Course Work of M.Phil. programme, may be considered for admission to the Ph.D. programme without completing M.Phil. programme on specific recommendations of  DRC and subject to approval by the University Research Council. In such cases, there is no need to repeat the course work for Ph.D.

(d) Candidates already registered for Ph.D. with other Universities approved by UGC can transfer the registration on producing No objection certificate from that university, and subject to the approval of the Vice chancellor. Once admitted the existing rules and regulations shall be applicable. However, the date of registration will be considered to be the original date of registration with the previous university.

(e) A valid score in the Entrance test conducted by the University is necessary in all the above cases.

For candidates migrating from other universities :

Applicants who have already registered for Ph.D. with other Universities are allowed to migrate provided they fulfil the following conditions:

  • The university where they have registered already is recognized by UGC,
  • Submit NOC (No Objection Certificate) from that university along with the original registration certificate,

(a) The required minimum qualification for admission to a Ph.D. programme shall normally be a two year Master’s Degree in the subject/relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade (50 % for SC, ST or those who have minimum ten years teaching/industry experience). Or Pass in M.Phil. Degree in respective subject with 55% marks after completion of Masters Degree.

(b) In exceptional cases, Department Research Committee (DRC) may propose any other suitable qualifications/ requirements in specific areas, consistent with the norms of UGC, AICTE and other statutory bodies, to URC for its recommendation to the Academic Council for approval*.

*Provided that where the minimum eligibility criteria for admission laid down by various Statutory/Regulatory bodies is higher than the minimum eligibility criteria as prescribed above, the criteria laid down by such Statutory Bodies will be followed.

Candidates passing HSC (Standard XII) examination of Karnataka State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have secured minimum 45 % marks in physics, Chemistry & Mathematics added together. For SC/ST candidates, minimum marks required is 40% in physics, Chemistry & Mathematics added together.

Candidates passing Diploma in Engineering / Technology examination with minimum of 45% marks from the Polytechnics affiliated to AICTE approved Polytechnics are eligible for the Lateral Entry Admission for B.TECH. program in the 2nd year. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum marks percentage required is 40% in Diploma.

  Electronics and Communication Engineering

A pass in the 10+2 (Higher Secondary) examination or any other equivalent examination of any authority, recognized by Srinivas University, with an aggregate of 50% of marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.(45% in case of SC/ST candidates). Admission needs valid score in SUAT/CET.

Clinical Psychology

B.Sc. Psychology degree from a recognized university with an aggregate of at least 50% marks, students holding any other degree such as Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), BA Sociology, B.Sc. Home Science, B.A. Philosophy or B.Ed. with Psychology Papers can also apply for MSc Psychology courses.

PhD

Allied Health Sciences

(a) The required minimum qualification for admission to a Ph.D. programme shall normally be a two year Master’s Degree in the subject/relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade (50 % for SC, ST or those who have minimum ten years teaching/industry experience). Or Pass in M.Phil. Degree in respective subject with 55% marks after completion of Masters Degree.

(b) In exceptional cases, Department Research Committee (DRC) may propose any other suitable qualifications/ requirements in specific areas, consistent with the norms of UGC, AICTE and other statutory bodies, to URC for its recommendation to the Academic Council for approval*.

*Provided that where the minimum eligibility criteria for admission laid down by various Statutory/Regulatory bodies is higher than the minimum eligibility criteria as prescribed above, the criteria laid down by such Statutory Bodies will be followed.

Eligibility conditions for admission:

For Fresh Candidates :

(a) It is desirable that the applicants who possess minimum prescribed qualifications for admission to Ph.D. programme, should also have an excellent academic/ professional attainment in the relevant discipline.

(b) The applicant for Part-time Ph.D. should:

(i) prove to the satisfaction of DRC that his official duties permit him to devote sufficient time for research.

(ii) ensure that facilities for pursuing research are available at his place of work in the chosen field of research.

(c) An applicant who was initially registered for the M.Phil. Programme of this University and whose CGPA is at least 7 in Course Work of M.Phil. programme, may be considered for admission to the Ph.D. programme without completing M.Phil. programme on specific recommendations of  DRC and subject to approval by the University Research Council. In such cases, there is no need to repeat the course work for Ph.D.

(d) Candidates already registered for Ph.D. with other Universities approved by UGC can transfer the registration on producing No objection certificate from that university, and subject to the approval of the Vice chancellor. Once admitted the existing rules and regulations shall be applicable. However, the date of registration will be considered to be the original date of registration with the previous university.

(e) A valid score in the Entrance test conducted by the University is necessary in all the above cases.

For candidates migrating from other universities :

Applicants who have already registered for Ph.D. with other Universities are allowed to migrate provided they fulfil the following conditions:

  • The university where they have registered already is recognized by UGC,
  • Submit NOC (No Objection Certificate) from that university along with the original registration certificate,
  • Secure pass in the entrance examination conducted,
  • Register afresh paying the prescribed registration fee, and
  • Pay prescribed annual course fee at the beginning of each year.

The date of registration as shown in the NOC shall be counted for the pupose of calculating the time required to com[plete the course.

The subject/area/field of study shall remain without change.

M.Phil. Degree holders from other University will have to take the entrance examination and they are admitted subject to passing examination. The duration of the M.Phil. course shall be a minimum of one year for full-time program and two years for part time program. The course work pattern for M.Phil. shall be the same as for Ph.D. course work.

Degrees of Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.)/ Doctor of Science (D.Sc.)

 

Health Science

The applicant for enrolment must have A Doctoral degree (Ph.D./DBA) from a recognized Indian or foreign University in the relevant discipline provided that :

(1) He/she presently active in research/teaching with a minimum period of six years after obtaining Ph.D. /DBA degree, in the Department of this University or other Universities or Affiliated colleges or Institutions recognized for purpose of advanced research, located in India or abroad.

(2) The publications submitted by him/her for consideration for the award of D.Litt./D.Sc. degree are substantially the result of Post-Doctoral research work carried out during this period.

(3)  He should have published at least 10 research publications as first author in refereed, peer reviewed, indexed journals preferably approved by UGC. The proposed D.Litt./D.Sc. thesis shall be related to these published papers.

*However, the total number of published papers (first author & joint author together) should be proportionate to the duration after obtaining Ph.D. calculated at the rate of one paper per every completed year. Books are not treated as substitute for research paper. Aspiring candidates may submit the eligibility checklist provided as Annexure.

A candidate already holding D.Sc../D.Litt.  degree in a particular discipline is eligible to register for D.Sc./D.Litt. in another discipline after a gap of two years provided that evidence of standard publications as per fresh eligibility are produced in the second discipline in which he/she intends to submit for D.Sc./D.Litt. degree.

BCA Bachelor of computer Applications

A candidate who has passed the two years Pre-University Examination with minimum 40% marks conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in the State of Karnataka or any other 10+2 examination considered as equivalent thereto by Srinivas University is eligible for admission. In addition, a valid score in the entrance test conducted by Srinivas University (SUET) is necessary.

MCA Master of Computer Applications

A pass in graduation in the relevant discipline from a recognised educational institution. Students of allied disciplines like BSc Computer Science/BSc Electronics can also apply.

PhD Computer Science

BA Journalism & Mass Communication

Pass in 10+2/12th Standard with minimum 40 % marks. Admission needs valid score in SUAT.

MSW Masters in Social Work

Pass in any Bachelor Degree of 3 or 4 years with not less than 40% marks. Admission needs valid score in SUAT Entrance Test.

PhD Ph.D. or DPhil in Social Sciences / Psychology / Economics / Kannada / English / Sanskrit

BSc Nursing Nursing
  • Pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination
  • 45% marks in PCBE (physics, chemistry, Biology, English) – Higher Secondary Examination/Vocational Higher Secondary Examination
  • 40% marks for reserved category in PCBE
  • Age – 17 years as on December 31 of the year of admission
  • Admission of NRIs and foreign nationals is based on the qualifying marks in their core subjects
BBA Aviation Management Pass in 10 + 2 / 12th Standard with minimum 40% marks. Admission needs valid score in SUAT.
  Aviation & Logistic Management Pass in 10 + 2 / 12th Standard with minimum 40% marks. Admission needs valid score in SUAT.
  Aviation, Travel and Tourism Management  Pass in 10 + 2 / 12th Standard with minimum 40% marks.
Admission needs valid score in SUAT.
PhD Aviation Management Master’s Degree in the subject/relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade.
BEd Education
  • A Candidate who has secured at least 50% marks in aggregate either in the Bachelor’s Degree / or in the Master’s Degree in Science/Social Science/ Humanity OR any degree shall be eligible for admission to the degree of Bachelor of Education. Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other Qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the B.Ed Degree.
  • There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST/Category-1/Physically disabled candidates.
  • Rules regarding admission, entrance examination, intake, eligibility, reservations, proportions for different subjects and related norms will be as laid down by the NCTE and the Government of Karnataka from time to time and notified by the University shall be followed.
PhD Education A pass in postgraduation in the relevant discipline from a recognised educational institution. Students from allied disciplines can also apply.

The registration can be taken up and then account comprising username and password has to be created.

Post creation of user account, they can login and then start filling the application form. The application form must be filled with details like the name of the candidate, date of birth, address, communication information like email, mobile number, course desiring to apply, qualification details. Post filling with these details, students have to pay the registration fees and then submit the application form. 

Students can also look for offline mode of application form submission, if made available. Under this mode, candidates can visit the institution premises and then procure the application form along with prospectus. The form can be filled and submitted there itself or it can be brought home and filled and then sent to the institution either through post or courier.

Post application submission, students have to appear for further admission process. This process starts with a written tests - SUAT/ SUET/ SUCET. Candidates have to pass the test with required qualifying marks to move to the next phase of admission process which comprises counselling/interview/group discussion. Students who have passed well-known national level exams like JEE Mains, GATE,  NEET, PGCET, KMAT are exempted from taking part in the written test conducted by the university, they can take part in counselling/interview/group discussion directly. 

Selection of students will be done based on factors – performance in written exam (if any-exam conducted by the institution or a well-known national level exam)/performance in the qualifying exam, performance in interview/group discussion (if any), choice of the course by the candidates, availability of seats.

  1. The students would receive confirmation message of successful submission and post submission they can view the details about the username and password created and website where they can use the username and password.

 

3A. Sometimes after confirmation, candidates may receive an One Time Password (OTP) either on their mobile phone or email after submission of registration form. In that case, they can enter the OTP and receive the final confirmation of submission of registration form and the details about username and password created.

 

  1. Applicants can login in with the help of credentials (username and password) created and start filling the application form with details – the name (of the candidate), age, date of birth, educational qualification, residential address and permanent address, the course they wish to study, the test centre where they wish to write the test.

 

  1. Post filling all the details, applicants have to upload the documents, the documents to be uploaded would depend on the type of the course, they are wishing to apply for the exam. The list of documents to be attached are mentioned below for various courses:

6. Post uploading of the documents, candidates can pay the registration fee using the online modes like credit card, debit card and net banking and obtain confirmation. After obtaining the confirmation, candidates can check for errors in the application and rectify them if any. Post rectification/verifying, application can be submitted and confirmation for successful submission can be obtained.
