Biological Sciences and Bioengineering program (BIO) aims to educate students about developing new bioinformatics tools. They also learn about Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Cell and Tissue Engineering, Biomedical Devices, Computational Bioengineering, Biomedical Imaging, Premed and Synthetic Biology.
Students acquire knowledge about applying engineering principles to the re-conceptualisation of biological phenomena. Training is imparted to them to develop new materials and processes, which would help the students.
This course is all about application of principles of biology and the tools of engineering to create usable, tangible, economically-viable products. This course is about the application of number of pure and applied science knowledge in the real world practise.
Things like mass and heat transfer, kinetics, biocatalysts, biomechanics, bioinformatics, separation and purification processes, bioreactor design, surface science, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and polymer science are taught in this course.
To design the things like medical devices, biocompatible materials, process engineering and catalysis, diagnostic equipment, renewable energy, agricultural engineering, ecological engineering, and other areas that improve the living standards of societies, this course is taught to the students to get specialisation.
Bioengineering and biological sciences are not the same. But, Bioengineering overlaps substantially overlaps with biological sciences and biotechnology. It is the same way as in aerospace engineering overlaps with space technology or astrophysics.
This course includes working with the doctors, clinicians, researchers, and the bioengineers. They use traditional engineering principles and techniques to address biological processes.
The course is for three to five years. The students get a degree in BS in engineering. The fundamentals of this course includes biomechanics, thermodynamics, genetic engineering, biology, fluid and mechanical dynamics, chemical and enzyme kinetics, electronics, and materials properties.

Biological scientists and biological engineers have the opportunity to work in specialty areas such as bio-instrumentation, biomechanics, clinical and rehabilitation engineering.
The interdependency of each of these specialty fields increases the demand for the biological scientists and biological engineers. One of the primary tasks of rehabilitation engineers is to help improve the lives of those who have physical impairments.
The possible career options are in the profession of doctors, nurses, pharmacologists, scientists, research scholars. The practical application of this course applies in the fields of agriculture, medicines, genetic engineering, and food industries.
