Civil Environmental Engineering Course 2023 Civil environmental engineering is not civil engineering. It is a lot different. It can also be said as the part of civil engineering. In this discipline, the role of the engineers is to protect the environment and be its protector from the civil and construction point of view.

The civil environmental engineers have a crucial role of ensuring minimum wastage and environmental protection in present times of climatic emergency. In simple words, in construction or through civil engineering, the environment goes through a lot of things and these engineers are in a position to reduce those affects in the nature.

Also, the thing to note here is that civil engineering is a lot different than environmental engineering. These are not the same disciplines of course. Environmental Engineering requires more chemistry and biology than Civil Engineering, while Civil Engineering focuses much more on all aspects of infrastructure. Environmental engineering is a sub-discipline of civil engineering and chemical engineering.

Environmental engineering is more about the application of science and engineering principles that provide a better environment, to give healthy water, air and land for human habitation and other living things, and to rehabilitate polluted areas.

The sub-branches of this course include biological engineering, radioactive engineering, chemical engineering, and even mechanical engineering.

Also, the Environmental Engineering degree focuses on designing policies and regulating the development of technologies for managing contaminated lands and ensuring the safety of people along with environmental elements.

Civil Environmental Engineering Eligibility

For UG Course: The candidates who wish to undertake this course must hold a passing certificate of a recognised board for 10+2 class in maths, physics and chemistry as the prime subjects. They also need to give JEE or the state level exams.

For PG Course: The candidates who wish to undertake this course must hold A passing certificate of 10+2 from a reputed board in subjects, physics, chemistry and maths. For this level, they must give the GATE examinations.

Other top exams required for this course are JEE Advanced and CUSAT CAT.
