Madras Christian College (MCC) offers various scholarships to support students, including those from economically weaker sections and those with academic merit. These scholarships can be both institutional and external, with some provided by government bodies and others by private organizations and alumni.

Madras Christian College (MCC) eligibility criteria generally require a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination for general category students and 45% for reserved categories. Specific programs may have additional requirements, such as certain subject combinations in previous qualifying exams or scores in entrance tests like TANCET.

For Undergraduate (UG) Programs:

  • General Eligibility: Candidates must have passed their 10+2 (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
  • Reserved Categories: Candidates belonging to reserved categories need a minimum of 45% marks.
  • Specific Programs: Some UG programs, like B.Com, may have additional subject requirements like Mathematics at the Class XII level.
  • Entrance Exams: While not always mandatory, some UG programs may require scores from TANCET or other recognized Common Entrance Tests.

For Postgraduate (PG) Programs:

  • General Eligibility: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is required, with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Specific Programs: M.Sc. programs require a relevant B.Sc. degree, while M.Com. requires a B.Com. or related degree.
  • Entrance Exams: Certain PG programs, such as MSW, may require entrance tests, group discussions, and interviews.

Doctoral Programs:

Candidates need a Master's degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent.

Other Important Considerations:

  1. Transfer Certificates: Candidates from boards other than the Tamil Nadu State Board, CBSE, AISSC, and ICSE need an Eligibility Certificate from the University of Madras.
  2. Age Limit: There might be an age limit for certain programs, with relaxations for specific categories.
  3. Spot Admissions: Candidates for Self-Financed courses may need to report to the Admission Office with relevant documents.

In summary, while a minimum percentage in the qualifying exam is the general eligibility criterion for MCC, specific programs have additional requirements, including subject combinations, entrance test scores, and other factors. It's crucial to refer to the specific program details on the MCC website or prospectus for accurate and up-to-date information.
