SRM University is ranked as one of the best private engineering university. Formerly known as SRM Institute of Technology, it has been granted the status of a full-fledged University in the year 2006. But, it was estab;oshed way before in 1986. The SRM University is one of the largest private university in India with a population of over 38,000 students across its 7 campuses.
SRM Institute of Science and Technology is a deemed high-ranking university that is part of the SRM Institutions Group. SRM IST has a total of four campuses in Kattankulathur,Tamil Nadu from which the main campus is situated. Chennai itself has two more campuses, the Ramapuram SRM IST campus, and the Vadapalani SRM IST campus.

SRM IST grants admission to many of its programmes via entrance examinations at the national level or on the basis of merit scores obtained in the qualifying examination followed by counselling.

The college has admitted more than 50,000 students from the date of its establishment. The faculty strength of the college is 3200 plus. The faculty of the college is their prime USP for which they are famous. They have highly experienced and professional faculty members who believe in upgrading the educational status of the students.
SRMIST also offers admissions to the international students and till now more than 950 foreign students have graduated from this college. This shows the diversity amonsgt the students in the campus. 70% of students are from outside Tamil Nadu, with students from USA, Europe, China and other countries. SRM University Sonepat offers admission to B.Tech, M.Tech, BSc, M.Sc, BCom, MCom, BCA, MCA, MBA, and PhD courses.SRM University Sonepat Admission is based on SRMJEEE, CAT/XAT/MAT, NCHMCT JEE, followed by Counselling or a Personal Interview.
The eligibility criteria for B.Tech at SRM University Sonepat are 10+2 in the science stream with 50% marks, and for MBA are a graduation in the relevant discipline with 50% marks. B.Tech admission is based on SRMJEE Main, followed by Counselling. Meanwhile, admission to MBA courses is based on CAT/XAT/MAT, followed by Counselling.
SRM University Sonepat Admission is based on SRMJEEE, SRMHCAT, NCHMCT JEE, followed by Counselling or a Personal Interview. The NCHMCT JEE Main 2024 cutoff for the round 2 was 9895 for the General category. The MAT 2024 cutoff for round 1 was 67 for the General category. Meanwhile, the XAT cutoff 2024 for round 1 was 70 for the general category.
Candidates have to register for Counselling based on the SRMJEEE Main score for B.Tech admissions. In addition, for admission to MBA courses, candidates have to register for CAT Counselling based on their CAT score.
SRM University Sonepat's Admission process is conducted in an online mode. Admission to UG and PG courses is based on national-level entrance exams. Candidates have to appear for the exams such as SRMJEEE, CAT/XAT/MAT, and NCHMCT. Based on the entrance score, candidates have to register for Counselling for admission purposes.
For MBA admissions, register for CAT Counselling, and for other UG and PG programs, register for Counselling at the @admissions.srmuniversity.ac.in. Selection for MBA and PhD courses will be based on Personal Interviews conducted by the institute.
