Vellore Institute of Technology VIT University, Vellore was established in 1984 as a self-financing institution called the Vellore Engineering College by Dr G. Viswanathan, a former Parliamentarian and Minister in the Tamil Nadu Government, under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956. VIT got the University status in 2001 by the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development. The university is approved by AICTE and recognised by UGC.

Nationality: The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National / PIO card Holder.
Age Limit: Candidates whose date of birth fall on or after 1st July, 2004 are eligible.
Academic Qualification: Students who have passed or appearing in 12th or equivalent are eligible for VITEEE 2025.
Subjects: Students need to have Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English (PCME) for being eligible for all B.Tech degree programs.
Percentage: Students are required at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology (PCM/B) in intermediate. However, Students belonging to SC/ST or hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and North eastern states must have a minimum of 50% score in PCM/B.
The cutoff rank in VITEEE 2025 is formalised for admission-selecting the most qualified individuals during online counselling. Online counselling will be held in mid-June for registration through various counselling levels. Graduate programs will be separated into B. Tech Programs or M.Tech/BUS Programs or Dual Programs. Allotment would be based on the rank received and options available.
1 lakh rank-holders are called for the counselling process at all four campuses, VIT-Vellore, VIT-Chennai, VIT-AP and VIT-Bhopal. Rank-holders above 1 lakh are eligible to appear in counselling for VIT-AP and VIT-Bhopal campuses.
VIT will verify the eligibility of candidates after paying the fees within the stipulated time or before that. Candidates have to produce related documents in reporting to the campus or needed by the Office of Admissions. If the requirements are satisfied, then the office will give them a provisional admission offer during the counselling.
VITEEE 2026 - VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) 2026 is to get admission in the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) campuses. VIT Business School MBA 2026-28 Application selection are done through CAT / XAT / MAT / VITBEC. Students will have to give the VITBEE entrance exam to be admitted in the VIT Business School.
The VIT has announced the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2026exam date and issued the VITEEE application form 2026. The entrance exam will held between April 28 and May 3, 2026 tentatively for admission to UG engineering programs offered at all the campuses. VITEEE 2026 registration has started on the official website, viteee.vit.ac.in.
The laste date to apply for the exam is March 31, 2026. In order to apply, candidates will be required fee 2026 of Rs 1,350. VITEEE 2026 result will be tentatively out in the second week of May 2026 and the counselling process will begin in the same month.
To apply to VIT Vellore, visit the official website, register as a new user, and fill out the application form online. You will need to provide personal and academic details, select your test city and subject preferences, and upload a photo and signature. After paying the non-refundable application fee, you can submit your application. You can also apply based on JEE Main, CET, or SAT scores.
