Syllabus for XIC OET 2022

Students applying for XIC OET 2022 must be familiar with all types of topics related to media, mass communication, public relations, journalism and also language skills (english). The exact syllabus will likely be informed in due course.

However taking into account factors like courses to be studied and knowledge required to gain admission in the courses offered, the topics to be studied while preparing for the exam can be estimated. The topics from which the questions would be asked are given below:

English (Language Skills)

In this section of the exam language ability of aspirants will be tested. Questions will be from topics related to correct the spellings, singular, plural, synonyms, antonyms, idioms and phrases, one word substitutes.

General Knowledge

This section will have questions related to current affairs, notable events in states and national level, eminent personalities, important dates with regards to national history and others. Questions regarding international events can also be asked in this part of the exam.

Media Awareness

This part of the exam will have questions related to various topics concerning media and mass communication. Questions related to advertising, print media, visual media and emergence of new age media, mass media and its relevance would be asked in this section.

Logical and Analytical Skills

In this section a candidate’s ability to identify a problem and the means to solve it is tested. Candidates should practice questions from topics like – Series, Blood Relations, Directions, Critical Reasoning, Syllogism and Analogy. Questions involving simple mathematical calculations may also find a place in this section.
