IITMPTF and SWAYAM Plus join hands for a great course

IITMPTF is partnering with the SWAYAM Plus initiative of the Union Education Ministry to launch a training program in the Semiconductor Industry for Students and graduates.
This skill-based training program is intended for engineering and science students and graduates from Electronics/Electrical/ Mechanical/Manufacturing/Production disciplines.

This short-term training program will be taught in physical mode at IIT Madras and will focus on the semiconductor Industry, say sources from IITMPTF.
The program offers placement assistance for high-performing students and will make them industry-ready by skilling them with hands-on training.
Aim
This program aims to inspire students and industry partners to pursue careers in electronics and tackle challenging scientific problems relevant to societal needs and sustainable growth.

It is proposed to provide hands-on training accompanied by background theory on the subject delivered by experts from IIT Madras, say sources from IITMPTF.
Joint initiative
SWAYAM Plus is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India and IIT Madras, launched in line with National Education Policy’s focus on promoting and encouraging employability-focused, skilling courses, say sources from IITMPTF.
It aims to build employable skills among graduates across sectors critical to India’s growth. The aim is also to align industry skills with academic courses, thereby bridging the gap.

Importance
Prof. R. Sarathi, Dean (Planning), IIT Madras highlighted the importance of this initiative.
Skills development is a National movement to provide Indians with opportunities to fully develop potential throughout their life, regardless of their prior experience, he said.
Through this movement, the skills, passion and contributions of every individual will drive India’s next phase of development towards an advanced economy and inclusive society, he said.
Prof Sarathi further said these training program aims to bridge the gap between idealized concepts learnt from the foundational courses in engineering and the real world.

Our experience indicates that there is a need to strengthen the skills needed in general engineering and to build an intuition in relation to that, he said.
The contents of the training program for engineering students are identified through the skill gap between engineering curriculum and practicing engineer, he said.

Accommodation will be offered at IIT Madras campus at a basic cost of Rs 650 per day per student, which includes food and stay, say sources from IITMPTF.
Request for accommodation can be made 4 days ahead the start of the respective training slots.

Check UPMSP Class 10, 12 results, passing marks, eligibility,![]() Published at : 17 Aug 2026, 6:20 PM IST Updated at : 17 Aug 2026, 6:20 PM IST If you appeared for the UP Board Class 10 or Class 12 compartment exam this year, the wait is finally over. The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has declared the UP Board Compartment Result 2026, and lakhs of students across the state are now checking their scores online. This guide covers everything you need to know: the exact result date, how to download your scorecard, passing marks, eligibility rules for the compartment exam, this year’s pass percentage, and what to do next if you’re still not satisfied with your result. Whether you’re a student, a parent, or a teacher guiding students through this process, this article gives you a clear, no-fluff roadmap. ![]() UP Board Compartment Result 2026: Key HighlightsBefore diving into the details, here’s a quick snapshot of the result:
This result covers students who appeared in the High School (Class 10) Compartment/Improvement Examination and the Intermediate (Class 12) Compartment Examination 2026. When Was the Result Declared?UPMSP announced the result on August 17, 2026, around 11:30 AM, through its official channels, including a post from the board’s verified handle. The announcement came about three weeks after the compartment exams were held on July 28, 2026, which is a fairly standard turnaround time for UPMSP’s evaluation and result compilation process. If you’ve seen conflicting dates floating around on social media or smaller websites, that’s not unusual during result season — many portals publish “expected date” articles ahead of the actual announcement and forget to update them. Always cross-check the date against the board’s official Twitter/X handle or the upmsp.edu.in homepage. ![]() How to Check UP Board Compartment Result 2026 OnlineChecking your result takes less than two minutes if you have your admit card handy. Here’s the step-by-step process:
A Practical TipTake a screenshot or download the result as a PDF the moment it loads. Server traffic tends to spike right after a result announcement, and the page can become slow or temporarily inaccessible. Having a saved copy means you won’t have to keep refreshing the page later. Keep in mind that this online scorecard is a provisional, computer-generated copy — not your original marksheet. The physical marksheet will be issued through your school at a later date, and that’s the document you’ll need for official admissions or record purposes. ![]() Passing Marks for UP Board ExamsUnderstanding the passing criteria helps you interpret your result correctly instead of just looking at a pass/fail tag.
This subject-wise and component-wise passing rule is important. A student can have a strong overall percentage but still be marked “fail” in a subject if they didn’t clear the individual theory or practical threshold — which is exactly why compartment exams exist in the first place. Eligibility for the Compartment ExamNot every student who fails is automatically eligible to sit for the compartment exam. UPMSP uses a grading system to decide this:
In simple terms, the compartment exam is a second chance designed for students who are close to passing, not a general re-attempt option for anyone who struggled across the board. ![]() Pass Percentage and Result AnalysisThe 2026 compartment result data gives a useful picture of how students performed: Class 10 (High School Compartment/Improvement):
Class 12 (Intermediate Compartment):
The much higher pass rate at the Class 10 level compared to Class 12 is a pattern seen almost every year — compartment papers at the intermediate level tend to be more demanding, and the subjects involved (often science or math-heavy) leave less room for last-minute recovery. What to Do After Checking Your ResultOnce you’ve checked your result, here’s a practical checklist:

Key Takeaways
ConclusionThe UP Board Compartment Result 2026 gives thousands of Class 10 and Class 12 students a genuine second opportunity to move forward in their academic journey. Whether you’ve cleared your subjects or need to plan for re-enrollment, the most important next step is verifying your result through the official UPMSP portal and keeping a saved copy until your original marksheet arrives.
