The 2021 NEET UG exam is to be held on 1 August this year.

It was in the meeting conducted recently that many states showed inclination towards conducting the 12th class board exams.

The proposal was to conduct 12th class exams in for few main subjects or for various subjects in a reduced time frame.

If the CBSE board exams for 12th class are to be held in August as per one of the options proposed in the meeting conducted earlier, there is every chance of postponing 2021 NEET UG exam, says R. Radhakrishnan, a physics teacher.

Experts keeping track of developments on the academic front are of the view that 2021 NEET UG exam is likely to be postponed to September this year.

Undergraduate medical education aspirants can begin registering for 2021 NEET UG exam from July 1 onwards as the registrations are likely to open by then.

The results for CBSE class 12 board exams could be declared by end of August or beginning of September, says T. Anandarao, chemistry teacher with a NEET coaching centre.

Similarly, JEE Mains 2021 (April and May) editions can be likely conducted at the end of July and August, say educationists.

It all depends on June 1 when the final decision on conducting CBSE class 12 board exams will be announced.

The decision on June 1 would determine as to when 2021 NEET UG exam is to be conducted.

Even as the decision is being awaited across the nation, good number of students are demanding further postponement of CBSE 12th exams.

There is no dearth of students asking for the same with regards to 2021 NEET UG exam.

Social media platforms are being flooded with messages asking for postponement or cancellation of exams.

Even as the confusion continues, educationists are of the view that students can continue their preparation for the exams.

There seems to be greater inclination towards conducting 2021 NEET UG exam or CBSE 12th board exams as of now, reminds R. Gurumurthy, a physics teacher at a CBSE school.
