Let us discuss about JEE Mains and NEET UG In this topic, we will cover how to prepare for JEE Mains and NEET UG. Both of these exams have different pattern and are for different subjects, and need different preparations, of course.
Joint Entrance Examinations or JEE Mains as it is popularly called is one of the top entrance exams of India. Its former name was the All India Engineering Entrance Examination. It is an All India computer-based examination. The examination is for getting admission in undergraduate programmes in engineering, architecture, and planning throughout India. National Testing Agency or NTA conducts this examination since 2019.
For getting admissions in premier institutions like IITs or NITs, for B.Tech or B.Arch programmes, this examination is necessary. From 2021, JEE Mains is conducted four times a year between January to May. AIEEE was introduced in 2002 that was the old name for JEE Mains. The name got changed in 2013. There are two papers for the exams, the first is for B.E and B.Tech. Another one is for B.Arch and B.Planning courses.
NEET is an abbreviation for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. It is an Undergraduate entrance test for medicals. It was previously called an All India Pre-Medical Test. The test is for the students who want to pursue undergraduate medical (MBBS), undergraduate dental (BDS), and also equivalent AYUSH (BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, etc). This exam applies to government colleges and private institutions in India. This entrance exam also works for International colleges.
NTA or National Testing Agency conducts this course. This institution body provides the result to the Directorate General of Health Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with State Counselling Authorities for seat allocation.
The NEET-UG has also replaced a lot of pre-medical exams that were previously conducted by the different states. The syllabus in the NEET-UG consists of subjects like Chemistry, Physics, and Biology from the 11th and 12th as per the NCERT books.
NTA changes the NEET UG Exam pattern 2021. As per the new pattern, the paper will have 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Zoology and Botany). The said subjects will have two sections named A and B. The paper will now have options as internal choices.
Section A will be compulsory for the candidates that will be for 35 marks. Section B will have 15 questions in which the students will have to answer only 10 questions and that is a choice for the candidates. The Marking scheme goes like 4 marks for every positive answer and minus one mark for every wrong answer. If there are unattempted questions, there will be no deduction in marks.
However, it depends on the candidates if they want to change or stick to their old preparation style. With the change of the pattern, students will have to be more cautious about the kinds of questions they want to take up in the exams. So, that is something to take care and prepare beforehand. These were some of our tips on how to prepare for JEE Mains and NEET UG.
