JEE Mains

Joint Entrance Examinations or JEE Mains as it is popularly called is one of the top entrance exams of India. Its former name was the All India Engineering Entrance Examination. It is an All India computer-based examination. The examination is for getting admission in undergraduate programmes in engineering, architecture, and planning throughout India. National Testing Agency or NTA conducts this examination since 2019.

For getting admissions in premier institutions like IITs or NITs, for B.Tech or B.Arch programmes, this examination is necessary. From 2021, JEE Mains is conducted four times a year between January to May. AIEEE was introduced in 2002 that was the old name for JEE Mains. The name got changed in 2013. There are two papers for the exams, the first is for B.E and B.Tech. Another one is for B.Arch and B.Planning courses.

How to effectively prepare for JEE Mains

  1. The first step to effectively prepare for JEE Mains is to understand the pattern of the exams and papers.
  2. Know the entire syllabus so that there is no confusion
  3. Start solving the previous years’ JEE Mains question papers.
  4. Give as many mock tests as possible so that you know about the real exam scenario.
  5. Get your basics and the concepts clear.
  6. Don’t start any new topics during the last week. It is just going to ruin your entire plan.
  7. Try to keep your last week as simple, significant, and confident as possible.

Neet UG

NEET is an abbreviation for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. It is an Undergraduate entrance test for medicals. It was previously called an All India Pre-Medical Test. The test is for the students who want to pursue undergraduate medical (MBBS), undergraduate dental (BDS), and also equivalent AYUSH (BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, etc). This exam applies to government colleges and private institutions in India. This entrance exam also works for International colleges.

NTA or National Testing Agency conducts this course. This institution body provides the result to the Directorate General of Health Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with State Counselling Authorities for seat allocation.

The NEET-UG has also replaced a lot of pre-medical exams that were previously conducted by the different states. The syllabus in the NEET-UG consists of subjects like Chemistry, Physics, and Biology from the 11th and 12th as per the NCERT books.

How to effectively prepare for NEET UG

NTA changes the NEET UG Exam pattern 2021. As per the new pattern, the paper will have 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Zoology and Botany). The said subjects will have two sections named A and B. The paper will now have options as internal choices.

Section A will be compulsory for the candidates that will be for 35 marks. Section B will have 15 questions in which the students will have to answer only 10 questions and that is a choice for the candidates. The Marking scheme goes like 4 marks for every positive answer and minus one mark for every wrong answer. If there are unattempted questions, there will be no deduction in marks.

  1. With the change in pattern, candidates might need to change their preparation style if they wish to.
  2. Take enough notes
  3. Make a realistic timetable
  4. Get high-quality study material
  5. Practice enough mock tests
