KVPY 2021 exam to be held on great January 9

KVPY 2021 exam will be conducted on January 9. IISC Bangalore has released the date for conducting the well-known exam. Students who are focused on studying science can attend this exam.

According to the official website of KVPY 2021 exam, all the candidates who have registered and paid the fees for the test (KVPY 2021 exam) can note that the test will be conducted on 9 January 2022.

KVPY 2021 examAbout KVPY 2021 exam

KVPY 2021 exam is expanded in Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana 2021 exam. KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) is a fellowship programme at the national level that aims to popularise science among the students.

Students who are interested in studying science subjects can apply for this fellowship. Applicants will have to write a test and pass it with required score. Candidates who pass the test with the required score will have to take part in an interview.

The fellowship was introduced in 1999 by Department of Science and Technology of Government of India. Generous fellowship and contingency grant are provided to the selected KVPY Fellows up to the pre Ph.D. level or 5 years whichever is earlier.

In addition, summer camps for the KVPY Fellows are organized in prestigious research and educational institutions in the country.

The Department of Science and Technology, the nodal agency of the Government has entrusted the overall responsibility for organizing and running the KVPY Program to the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and set up a Management Committee and a National Advisory Committee (NAC) for overseeing its implementation.

A core committee looks after both the day-to-day and academic aspects of the KVPY Program.

Students who apply for this fellowship are selected based on their performance in the written test and also the interview.

Certain institutes like IISC Bangalore and IISERs (Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research) consider performance in test for providing admission into BS, BS-MS dual degree courses.

KVPY 2021 examEligibility

Students could apply for KVPY 2021 exam under three different streams – Stream SA, Stream SX and Stream SB. The eligibility condition for each stream is different.

Stream SA

Candidates who were applying for KVPY 2021 exam should have passed their 10th exam and have become eligible to enroll in 11th standard in science stream.

The student should produce a study certificate of class XI class once they are selected as a provisional KVPY fellow.

The fellowship of the students selected under this stream will be activated only if they join for an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.) in the academic year 2023-24 after having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects in the 12th standard Board Examination.

KVPY 2021 examStream SX

Students who are enrolled in class 12 in science stream during the academic year 2021-22 and aspiring to join undergraduate programme in basic sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S) during the academic year 2022-23 could apply for KVPY 2021 exam under this stream.

The fellowship of the students selected under this stream will be activated only if they join for an undergraduate course in Basic sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.) in the academic year 2022-23 after having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the 12th standard Board Examination.

Stream SB

Students desiring to apply for KVPY 2021 exam under this stream must have passed 12th class and should have turned eligible to enroll for 1st year B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. during the academic year 2021–22.

The student should produce a study certificate of 1st year B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S once they are selected as a provisional KVPY fellow.

The fellowship of the students selected under this stream will be activated only if they join an undergraduate program in Basic sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S) in the academic year 2021-22 and secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in 1st year of B.Sc./B.S./B.Math./B.Stat./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.

KVPY 2021 examThe test date
KVPY exam to select students for the fellowship is conducted every year and KVPY 2021 exam was the exam meant to be conducted this year. The test was meant to be held on November 7 this year.

The registration for KVPY 2021 exam was opened for registration on 12 July this year and the last date was 25 August. The admit cards for KVPY 2021 exam was made available for download on 8 October.

Sources say, while the date of conducting KVPY 2021 exam was announced it could not be conducted as per the actually planned schedule. It was postponed as concerns over regional languages were raised.

Sources said, the matter in this regard went for hearing in Madras Highcourt. A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed saying that the exam must be conducted in regional languages also.

The matter was taken up for hearing and Madras Highcourt had ordered a stay on the conduct of the exam (KVPY 2021 exam). Madras Highcourt had given approval to conduct KVPY 2021 exam on a condition that there would be prompt measures in the future for conducting the well-known exam in other regional languages also.

KVPY 2021 exam will be conducted in English and Hindi this year. As the time moves ahead, many expect the exam to be conducted in other regional languages. This would enable students coming from other mediums to write the exam with an objective pursuing higher education in science.

Students who have already applied for KVPY 2021 exam can taking into consideration the new date for conducting the test and plan their preparation accordingly.
