Why Has NTA Re-Extended the Fee Refund Facility?
NTA first asked candidates to submit their bank account information so that the fee paid for the cancelled May 3 examination could be refunded directly to their accounts. The correction window was subsequently reopened after candidates reported problems such as incorrect bank account numbers and IFSC codes.

According to the public notice issued on July 7, only about 10,28,223 candidates had confirmed or updated their bank details at that stage. NTA stated that it had already started processing refunds for those candidates.
However, as many students had still not completed the process, the agency extended the portal once again. The latest deadline is July 14 at 11:50 PM. Candidates who have not yet submitted accurate bank information should complete the process well before the portal closes.
Who Is Eligible for the NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund?
The refund facility is intended for candidates who paid the examination fee for the NEET UG 2026 examination conducted on May 3, 2026.

Because that examination was cancelled and a re-examination was conducted on June 21, NTA committed to refunding the examination fee paid by the affected candidates. Students should ensure that the account entered on the portal is active and capable of receiving the refund.
Candidates who have already received the refund do not need to submit their details again. Those whose refund is pending should check whether their bank information has been correctly confirmed on the portal.
How to Update Bank Account Details for the NEET 2026 Refund
Candidates can follow these steps:
- Visit the official NEET UG website at neet.nta.nic.in.
- Select the link for bank account details confirmation or updation.
- Log in using the required NEET UG 2026 credentials.
- Complete the OTP-based two-factor authentication process.
- Enter or verify the account holder’s name, bank account number, IFSC code, bank name and branch information.
- Upload a cancelled cheque, where required or preferred, to support account verification.
- Review all details carefully and submit the form.
- Save the confirmation page for future reference.
NTA has advised candidates to enter accurate account information so the refund can be processed without delay.

Candidates should not use an inactive account or enter another person’s details without checking the instructions displayed on the portal. A mistake in the account number or IFSC code may delay or prevent the credit of the refund.
Re-NEET 2026 OMR Sheet Release Date
The Re-NEET OMR response sheet is awaited. Once released, it is expected to be available through the candidate login on the official website.
The OMR response sheet will show the answers recorded by the scanning system. Candidates should compare those recorded responses with the answers they marked during the examination and with the applicable answer key.
The provisional answer keys for booklet codes 50, 60, 70 and 80 were published by NTA. When the provisional-key challenge process began, NTA clarified that scanning of the OMR answer sheets was still in progress. The agency said the answer-key review and OMR scanning were being conducted in parallel to help declare the final answer key and result at the earliest possible date.
How to Download the Re-NEET 2026 OMR Sheet
After the link becomes active, candidates are likely to be able to download the OMR sheet through the following process:

- Click the Re-NEET 2026 OMR response-sheet link.
- Enter the application number and other requested login information.

Candidates should verify the booklet code before calculating their probable score.
Re-NEET 2026 Final Answer Key
NTA conducted the Re-NEET UG examination on June 21 from 2 PM to 5:15 PM. The provisional answer-key challenge facility remained open from June 25 to June 28.
Candidates were required to pay a processing fee of Rs. 200 for each question challenged. NTA stated that the fee would be refunded in full when a challenge was accepted. Challenges were examined by subject experts, and an accepted correction would apply uniformly to candidates across all four paper sets.
After reviewing all valid objections, NTA will publish the final answer key. The result will be prepared using this final key. NTA has also clarified that no challenge or grievance concerning the answer key will be entertained after the challenge window closes or after the result is declared.
How to Calculate the Expected Re-NEET Score
Candidates can calculate an estimated score after matching their recorded responses with the answer key:
- Add four marks for every correct answer.
- Deduct one mark for every incorrect answer.
- Award zero marks for an unanswered question.
The formula is:
Expected NEET score = (Number of correct answers × 4) − Number of incorrect answers
The calculated score will remain provisional until NTA publishes the result because the final answer key may contain changes based on accepted objections.
What Should Candidates Do Now?
Candidates awaiting the OMR sheet and final answer key should keep their application number and login details ready. They should check only the official NTA and NEET portals for announcements.
Students eligible for the examination-fee refund must complete the bank account confirmation process by July 14 at 11:50 PM. Waiting until the final few hours may lead to problems caused by heavy website traffic, OTP delays or incorrect bank information.
After the result is announced, qualified candidates will have to follow the Medical Counselling Committee and respective state counselling authorities for MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical admission processes.
