Gaganyaan Mission  India's Journey to Become the Fourth Nation in Space

India's ambitious Gaganyaan Mission aims to launch its first crewed mission by 2024, marking a significant milestone in the nation's spacefaring journey. 

Send a three-member crew to orbit Earth at 400 km for three days before safely landing them back in the Indian Ocean. 

Mission Goal 

Successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the lunar south pole and launch of Aditya-L1, India's first solar mission, in 2023. 

Milestones Achieved 

Construct the "Bharatiya Antariksha Station" by 2035 and send the first Indian astronaut to the Moon by 2040.

Group Captain Prashanth Balakrishnan, Group Captain Ajith Krishnan, Group Captain Angad Pratap, and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla. 

Chosen Astronauts 

Preliminary Test Cleared

ISRO successfully completes flight engine acceptance tests. The engine boasts a thrust capability of 22 tonnes and a specific impulse of 442.5 seconds. 

Future Vision 

Beyond Gaganyaan, India aspires to construct the "Bharatiya Antariksha Station" by 2035 and send its first astronaut to the Moon by 2040.
