JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research was set up in 2008 in Mysore, Karnataka. It was formerly and popularly known as Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University or JSS University. JSS University is a private deemed to be university. It mainly focuses on medical, life science and health related studies. JSS University has 5 Constituent Colleges in Mysore and one Pharmacy College in Ootacamund, Tamil Nadu.
