Rajas Dental College and Hospital (RDCH) got established 1987. Sardar Dr. S.A. Raja is the founder and the chairman of the college. The college is known to deliver quality education in India with an illustrious 34 long years of excellence in grooming young and brilliant minds in the field of dentistry and allied health sciences. The college is affiliated to Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. This college functions under the governing council of Selvam Educational Trust guided by the proficient leadership of our Chairman Prof.
Dr. Jacob Raja – a man of clarity and innovation. The Trust also manages the Sardar Rajas College of Nursing (SRCN) and the S. A. Raja Pharmacy College, which apart from being the sister Institutions of Rajas Dental College and Hospital (RDCH) also lend research and academic interactive support through the use of common facilities like the Animal house and the Central Research Lab.
The college imparts post graduate and post doctoral (PhD.) education which accords impetus to further research, specialization and enlightenment. The alumni of this pioneering institution are successfully spread across the globe in clinical practice, research and academics and are setting milestones in dentistry and in allied fields of the health industry adding laurels to the crown of their proud Alma Mater.
The vision of the college is to to visualize and to create a healthier society by providing affordable healthcare services and to inspire the budding aspirants to reach the unreached for the betterment of the community. Their mission is to stimulate and extend the frontiers of knowledge through the faculty development and continuing the education programmes in our college. They want to promote competant and qualified manpower of health care services. They also aim at making research the significant activity involving student, faculty and other stakeholder of education in our college.

The campus of the college is a beautiful and a huge one. They have a truly awe inspiring campus that is set in a sprawling 30 acres of sylvan settings, and nestled in the lap of the Western Ghats. The college campus is located in strategic access between two National Highways. The campus has the most serene and tranquil atmosphere which is an add on for the students.
The Institution provides a realm of peaceful learning, teaching and an aura of healing that relates medical science to nature. In consonance and corollary to such natural endowment the Institution keeps alive its commitment to the environment by use of renewable energy sources by having a 60KW captive solar power plant and use of wind energy as part of the the Muppandal Wind Farm (India’s largest and third largest in the world).
The college also offers green initiatives in the campus and they maintain eco-friendly environment within the city. They also aim to do activities like waste recycling, drip irrigation, rainwater harvesting, LED lights, solar plants, cycles etc. as green initiatives in the campus. The college has a full fledged transport service which provides transport for the students and staff at a 50 km radius. The service offers a hassle free and safe transport on daily basis.
The college campus also has a unit of bio medical waste management. The Bio- Medical waste generated during the diagnosis, treatment, immunization and laboratory procedures are collected in appropriate colour coded containers.
The cadaveric remains from the Department of Anatomy are being disposed of in the burial ground maintained within the college premises.the electrical incinerator is being used for the safe disposal of sanitary pad in a hygienic manner.The Bio- degradable waste are disposed by means of manure pits. The waste water is primarily subjected for screening huge solid materials, then liquid waste transferred through pipelines and are stored in the settling tank and later used for irrigation purpose.
The safety of the college is of utmost importance to the students. The security personnel monitor the movements occurring in the campus on rotation basis 24 x7, Each floor is equipped with a fire extinguisher and water pipeline. CCTV camera provision in each floor records the events.
The outsiders are not allowed inside the college campus. The biometric system has also been provided in the hostel, with periodic monitoring. The college has engaged faculty counsellors at every level to ensure student’s welfare. The students have been provided with a separate room for counselling with the psychologist.
The top facilities of the college include AC lecture hall, lab facilities, medical facilities, solar panels, auditoriums, hostel facility, canteen, transport, etc. Some of the recreational activities offered by the college students are sports facilities, yoga, and gym. The academic classrooms are smart classrooms and seminar halls.
They have clinics, operation theatre, libraries, pharmacy, and a museum as well. There is an administrative office, syndicate room, and an exam cell also in the college.
