The general eligibility criteria for admission to MBBS/BDS Degree Courses, based on the information provided, are as follows:

1. Citizenship: Candidates should be citizens of India. Overseas Citizens of India who are registered under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act, 1955 are also eligible to apply, subject to providing proof of registration.

2. All India Merit List: The Central Board of Secondary Education prepares an All India Merit List of successful candidates of NEET (UG)-2018, based on the eligibility criteria provided by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India.

3. NEET-UG-2018: Admission to MBBS/BDS Degree Courses is solely based on the marks obtained in the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG-2018).

4. Minimum Percentile: Candidates must obtain a minimum percentile in NEET-UG-2018 to be eligible for admission. For general category candidates, the minimum percentile is 50%, and for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes, the minimum percentile is 40%.

5. Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination (10+2) with the required subjects and minimum marks. They must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology taken together. For candidates belonging to specific reserved categories, the minimum marks required may be lower (40%) instead of 50%.

6. Lowering of Minimum Marks: In case a sufficient number of candidates in specific categories fail to secure the minimum marks prescribed in NEET-UG for admission, the Central Government, in consultation with the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India, may lower the minimum marks for admission to MBBS/BDS Degree Courses for those respective categories. However, this decision applies only to the particular academic year.
