The CAT cut-off for IIM admission is determined by each institute's category. While the qualifying CAT cut-offs range from 80 to 90 percentile (General category), the final cut-offs are significantly higher. The final CAT cut-offs for the top IIMs are often between 98 and 100 percentile, while those for lesser IIMs range from 90 to 97 percentile. The PI shortlisting is based on the final CAT cut-off.
