IITMPTF and SWAYAM Plus join hands for a great course

IITMPTF is partnering with the SWAYAM Plus initiative of the Union Education Ministry to launch a training program in the Semiconductor Industry for Students and graduates.
This skill-based training program is intended for engineering and science students and graduates from Electronics/Electrical/ Mechanical/Manufacturing/Production disciplines.

This short-term training program will be taught in physical mode at IIT Madras and will focus on the semiconductor Industry, say sources from IITMPTF.
The program offers placement assistance for high-performing students and will make them industry-ready by skilling them with hands-on training.
Aim
This program aims to inspire students and industry partners to pursue careers in electronics and tackle challenging scientific problems relevant to societal needs and sustainable growth.

It is proposed to provide hands-on training accompanied by background theory on the subject delivered by experts from IIT Madras, say sources from IITMPTF.
Joint initiative
SWAYAM Plus is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India and IIT Madras, launched in line with National Education Policy’s focus on promoting and encouraging employability-focused, skilling courses, say sources from IITMPTF.
It aims to build employable skills among graduates across sectors critical to India’s growth. The aim is also to align industry skills with academic courses, thereby bridging the gap.

Importance
Prof. R. Sarathi, Dean (Planning), IIT Madras highlighted the importance of this initiative.
Skills development is a National movement to provide Indians with opportunities to fully develop potential throughout their life, regardless of their prior experience, he said.
Through this movement, the skills, passion and contributions of every individual will drive India’s next phase of development towards an advanced economy and inclusive society, he said.
Prof Sarathi further said these training program aims to bridge the gap between idealized concepts learnt from the foundational courses in engineering and the real world.

Our experience indicates that there is a need to strengthen the skills needed in general engineering and to build an intuition in relation to that, he said.
The contents of the training program for engineering students are identified through the skill gap between engineering curriculum and practicing engineer, he said.

Accommodation will be offered at IIT Madras campus at a basic cost of Rs 650 per day per student, which includes food and stay, say sources from IITMPTF.
Request for accommodation can be made 4 days ahead the start of the respective training slots.

Last-Minute Preparation Tips for MHT CET 2026With exams starting April 11, there are still roughly two weeks of productive preparation time left. Here is how to use them wisely. Focus on High-Weightage TopicsThe MHT CET syllabus follows an 80:20 split — 80% of questions come from Class 12 topics and 20% from Class 11. Do not waste time going deep into Class 11 topics at this stage unless they are your strong suit. Double down on Class 12 chapters. For Mathematics, prioritise Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Algebra, and Vectors. For Physics, focus on Electricity and Magnetism, Optics, and Mechanics. Chemistry tends to be the most scoring section — give special attention to Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry numericals. Take Full-Length Mock Tests DailyAt this stage, reading new theory is less useful than practising under exam conditions. Take at least one full mock test daily — 180 minutes, no breaks, phone away. This builds stamina and improves speed, both of which matter enormously in a 150–200 question paper. Revise, Don’t RestartA common last-minute mistake is picking up a new book or starting a fresh chapter. Stick to what you have already covered. Revisit your formula notebook, short notes, and flagged mock test questions. Consolidation beats new content at this point. Maintain a Formula and Concept SheetKeep a running document of formulas, reactions, and key definitions that you tend to forget. Review this sheet every morning. Repetition over 10–14 days makes these stick far more reliably than marathon study sessions. Sleep and Health Are Not OptionalSacrificing sleep to study the night before does more harm than good. A well-rested brain processes information 20–40% faster. Aim for 7–8 hours in the final week and arrive at the exam centre calm and hydrated. MHT CET 2026 Exam Pattern at a Glance
Since there is no negative marking, answer every question — an unanswered question is a guaranteed zero, while a guess gives you a chance. Strategic guessing on questions you have narrowed down to two options is a legitimate exam tactic. What Happens After the Exam?Once the exam concludes, the CET Cell will release a provisional answer key on cetcell.mahacet.org within roughly a week of each session. Students can raise objections against any answer within the challenge window by submitting a fee and supporting documents through the candidate portal. After resolving objections, the final answer key is published and results are calculated as percentile scores. The MHT CET 2026 Result is expected in June 2026. Candidates who qualify then participate in the Centralised Admission Process (CAP), with counselling tentatively beginning in the second week of June 2026. Key Takeaways
ConclusionThe MHT CET 2026 admit card is one of the most important documents in your engineering or pharmacy admission journey this year. With the PCM hall ticket releasing on April 5 and PCB on April 15, you have very little time to spare. Download it the moment it goes live, verify every detail, and keep multiple printed copies. More importantly, use the remaining days before the exam productively. Focus on high-weightage Class 12 topics, take full-length mock tests, and keep your preparation targeted rather than scattered. Thousands of students will appear alongside you — the ones who stay organised and consistent right till the end are the ones who come out ahead. Bookmark cetcell.mahacet.org, set reminders for the admit card dates in your phone, and all the best for MHT CET 2026. FAQsQ1. When will the MHT CET 2026 admit card be released?
The MHT CET 2026 admit card for the PCM group (engineering) will be released on April 5, 2026, and for the PCB group (pharmacy/biology) on April 15, 2026. Both can be downloaded from cetcell.mahacet.org or portal-2026.maharashtracet.org.
Q2. Is the City Intimation Slip the same as the MHT CET admit card?
No. The City Intimation Slip is a provisional document released about 10 days before the exam that only tells you which city your exam centre is in. The final admit card — released 3–4 days before the exam — contains the full centre address, shift timing, and is the only document accepted for entry at the exam hall.
Q3. What login credentials are needed to download the MHT CET 2026 admit card?
You need the Email ID and Password you registered with on the CET portal during the application process. If you have forgotten your password, use the “Forgot Password” option on the portal before admit card release day.
Q4. What are the MHT CET 2026 exam dates for PCM and PCB?
PCM (Engineering) Session 1 is from April 11 to 20, 2026, and Session 2 is from May 12 to 16, 2026. PCB (Pharmacy) Session 1 is from April 21 to 26, 2026, and Session 2 is on May 10 and 11, 2026.
Q5. Is there negative marking in MHT CET 2026?
No, MHT CET 2026 does not have any negative marking for wrong answers. This means you should attempt every question — even if you are unsure, guessing from narrowed-down options is a valid strategy.
Q6. Can students from outside Maharashtra appear for MHT CET 2026?
Yes, students from other states can apply, but exam centres in 2026 are restricted to Maharashtra only (across all 36 districts). In previous years, centres were available in states like Delhi, Gujarat, and UP — that option is not available this year. Out-of-state candidates should plan travel and accommodation accordingly.
Q7. What should I do if there is an error in my MHT CET 2026 admit card?
Contact the State CET Cell immediately through the official website cetcell.mahacet.org. You will likely need to submit a correction request along with an undertaking form and supporting documents. Act quickly — corrections close to the exam date may not be possible.
