Work Description in Indian Army

The work of the Indian Navy officers is to assist during natural disasters, fighting in a war to protect the country, maintaining the country’s territorial integrity, etc. Four roles of a career in Indian Navy are the Military role, the Diplomatic role, the Constabulary role, and the Benign Role.

They are responsible for conducting mock drills, monitor international trade through waterways, and carry out anti-piracy operations. The Indian navy officers are also responsible for reinforcing the defence relations with friendly States. They are the ones leading the crew on-board State-of-the-art warships. They also conduct underwater inspections.

Eligibility Criteria

1. The candidates must be in the age bracket of 16.5 – 19 years.
2. Their nationality should be Indian or a subject of Bhutan, a subject of Nepal, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January 1962.
3. The candidates interested in the Electrical/ Marine Engineering /Architect field must have a 12th board degree. Or they should have its equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry with an aggregate of 75% in PCM and 50% marks in English either in 10th or 10+2.

Physical Requirements

1. The candidates must possess good mental and physical health.
2. They should be free of all diseases and disabilities.
3. They should have a colour perception standard of CPII.
4. The visual standards of their eyes should be under particular prescribed standards with and without glasses.

Opportunities of Career in Indian Navy

Engineering

The candidates who are interested in the engineering sector of Indian Navy get to the divisions of General Services, Naval Construction, and Submarine Engineering.

They are directly working with the submarines. They have to keep checking the submarines if they work properly and are in great condition. Other work in the engineering department includes designing, quality control, construction, and repairing the naval vessels.

Executive

The executive opportunities of a career in Indian Navy include Naval Armament Inspection Officer, Observer Officer, Hydrographic Officer, General Service Officer, Provost Officer, Pilot Officer, Diver Officer, Law Officer, and Information Technology branch.

The executive division of the Indian Navy is concerned with working & fighting the ship during wartime. They have to prepare nautical charts to provide direction, plan attacks, and deal with naval onboard operations.

Electrical

As the name says, the electrical career in Indian Navy is associated with the electrical requirements of the warships. They work on computer-controlled machinery and take care of Underwater weapons, missile systems, and radar and radio communication. They have to keep these things always in check at all times.

Medical

The medical career in Indian Navy is directly responsible for taking care of the health of the naval officers and everyone on the ship. They also are associated with taking care of the officer’s family by learning and practising military medicines.

Education

In this department of the Indian Navy, the concerned people get recruited for training individuals for becoming Indian naval officers. It is a crucial division of the Indian Navy. There are educators in different specialisation who teach and train the individuals based on their specialisation choices.
