Executive MBA programme of IIT Madras is open for registration and is designed specifically for mid-career working professionals. Interested individuals can apply till 19 October.

Executive MBA programme is also known as EMBA and is of two year duration and is being offered by Department of Management Studies of IIT Madras.

EMBA (Executive MBA programme) offers a rigorous yet practice-oriented curriculum, including three projects that apply theory to live business problems.

USP
The USP of Executive MBA programme is to offer state-of-the-art knowledge that is in sync with the industry requirements in domains such as digital economy, global strategy and Industry 4.0 technologies.

Besides the traditional subjects, Executive MBA programme also offers exposure to Social Media and Internet Marketing, which is vital to any contemporary Business, the Economics of Platforms, and Global Business Management.

Other important subjects include Cyber Security and Applications. Also, the students would receive exposure to technical aspects like Modern Manufacturing processes and 3D Printing, among others.

Department of Management Studies

Executive MBA programme aspires to equip the mid-career working professionals with deep functional and broad industrial domain knowledge, integrative perspective of boundary-spanning business decisions and leadership traits to contribute to a global business setup.

The structure and classes
The structure of Executive MBA programme is given below:

Ø A Functional Foundational – that provides theoretical, conceptual and insightful understanding of major functions and department roles in businesses

Ø Integrated Perspective – which helps develop strategic perspectives on cross-functional challenges and inter-department synergies.

Ø Global Leadership –which explores growth, profitability and sustainability avenues in local and global business contexts.

Ø Three Capstone projects designed for developing deeper insight into the application of advanced management concepts.

The Executive MBA programme is designed for blended weekend learning (physical and virtual). The classes, which will be held over alternate weekends, will begin in January 2022.

Eligibility and mode of selection
Individuals willing to join Executive MBA programme must have passed bachelors degree in any discipline with minimum 60 percent pass marks. They must also have a minimum of three years of work experience in the industry.

The pass percentage in the qualifying exam is 55 for applicants from SC/ST/PwD categories.

Applicants will be selected for the Executive MBA programme based on application data, video case study test and personal interview. Video case study test and personal interview will be conducted in the virtual mode.

The procedure to apply for Executive MBA programme is online. The candidates can visit the website ‘https://doms.iitm.ac.in/emba/’

Soon after the webpage downloads, they can click a scrolling message ‘EMBA Admission – 2022 Online Portal’ and another webpage with url ‘https://doms.iitm.ac.in/admission/’ will download.

Applicants can read the instructions on another page and scroll down till the end and click ‘Continue’ button situated at the end of the page.

Post clicking continue, applicants can register and obtain the username and password. After getting the username and password, students can login with help of them and begin applying for Executive MBA programme.

They can fill the form, pay the registration fee and upload the required documents and submit the application.

Candidates can directly access the website ‘https://doms.iitm.ac.in/admission/’ and click the appropriate button and commence registration to obtain username and password to apply for the MBA programme.

Registration fee
The fee to be paid while applying for the course is Rs 1500.

Point to remember
The photograph of the candidate is to be in JPG format and its size should be less than 50 KB. The other documents to be uploaded must be in PDF formant and less than 1MB in size.

Important dates
The process of applying for the programme began on 20 September. The last date for applying is 11:59 pm of October 19.

The dates for the virtual test and interview are 12,13 and 14 of November 2021. The results will be announced in November 2021 and classes would start in January 2022.
