ICFAI Law School signs MoU with William & Mary Law School and Widener University to foster academic and research collaborations through student and faculty exchange programs, advancing the internationalization of legal education.
Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India Law School, a part of The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education in Hyderabad, has signed a memorandum of understating with the two US law schools- William and Mary Law School and Widener University-Delaware Law School. MoU was inked on September 4 at the International Academic Leaders Meet at the campus of ICFAI.
International academic luminaries from Texas A&M School of Law, University of New Hampshire-Franklin Pierce School of Law, William and Mary Law School, Widener University-Delaware Law School, Tilburg Law School, SOAS London, and Georgetown Law attended the event. According to the ICFAI press release, the visiting international guests interacted with the students and were “amazed by the level of knowledge and humility among them.”
The agreement aims at Academic and Research collaborations including the exchange of students between the institutions, the exchange of faculty members and common sharing research projects. This kind of agreement between the two US universities was signed by Eileen Greene, assistant dean of Widener University-Delaware Law School and Catherine E Stahl, director of LLM programmes at William and Mary Law School.
K Hariharan, associate professor, welcomed the guests and explained in detail the ambitious goal of ICFAI Law School to be an internationally recognized institution. LS Ganesh, Vice Chancellor, of ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, said that synergy between global and Indian Institutions of higher learning was very essential in the contemporary environment, where geographical boundaries were shrinking with the aid of technology. He further reiterated the importance of establishing mutual academic and research collaborations that could benefit both students and faculty from both institutions.
The alliance with US Law School is a major step towards internationalization of legal education, opening several avenues for all academic stakeholders, which in turn will benefit the student community,” said P Ravisekhararaju, director, of ICFAI Law School. Y Pratap Reddy, dean, Akbar Khan and other faculty members, students along other guests attended the event.
