IIT Jodhpur confers great 1228 degrees at 11th convocation

IIT Jodhpur conducted its 11th convocation recently where 1228 degrees were conferred.
The degrees were awarded across BTech, MSc, MTech, MDes, MBA, PhD and Postgraduate Diploma and Certificate programs.

The morning session of the Convocation was dedicated to undergraduate students, while the evening session celebrated postgraduate and doctoral scholars.
The ceremony was infused with academic pride and cultural reverence, marking the culmination of rigorous learning and transformational journeys for students of IIT Jodhpur.
11th Convocation of IIT Jodhpur
A total of 1,228 students fulfilled all academic requirements for the award of degrees and certifications during the 11th Convocation of IIT Jodhpur.

This includes 390 students from various undergraduate B.Tech. programs such as Artificial Intelligence & Data Engineering (AIDE), Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil & Infrastructure Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Materials Engineering.
One student was awarded the B.Tech.-M.Tech. Dual Degree, while 77 students graduated from the M.Sc. programs in Chemistry (CY), Computational Social Science (CSS), Digital Humanities (DH), Mathematics (MA), and Physics (PH).
The Master of Design in XR Program had 25 graduates, and 16 students completed the M.Sc.–M.Tech. dual-degree pathway.


Management
In management and entrepreneurship, 111 students graduated from the MBA, MBA (Fintech and Cyber Security), MBA (Technology), and MBA Double Degree programs, while 2 students earned Master’s degrees in Medical Technologies.
A total of 4 students completed the M.Tech.-Ph.D. Dual Degree program and 65 students earned the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. Further, 69 students were awarded PG Diplomas and Certificates, say sources from IIT Jodhpur.
Minors and specializations
In addition, 46 B.Tech. students earned Minors and Specializations in areas including Engineering Innovation, Science of Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, Management, Data Science, Mathematical and Computational Economics, Visual Computing, Entrepreneurship, and Robotics.

Expansion at IIT Jodhpur
As part of its expansion under IITJ³, the Institute is establishing two extension campuses. The Jaipur campus will focus on Civil Engineering, AI & Data Science, Design, and Entrepreneurship, with support sought from the Government of Rajasthan and the Ministry of Education.
A specialized research centre in Jaisalmer will advance work in Astrophysics, Desert Ecology, and Desert Warfare, including deployment of a world-class 1-meter astronomical telescope, say sources from IIT Jodhpur.
Chief Guest at IIT Jodhpur Convocation
Chief Minister of Rajasthan Bhajan Lal Sharma graced the occasion as the chief guest.
He formally approved in principal the allocation of land and building for the establishment of IIT Jodhpur’s Extension Campus in Jaipur, marking a historic step in the Institute’s expansion under its strategic vision, IIT Jodhpur 5.0.
This upcoming Jaipur campus is envisioned as a dynamic hub dedicated to Civil & Infrastructure Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Design, and Entrepreneurship.
It aims to catalyze collaboration between governance, industry, and academia, positioning itself as a driving force for innovation, policy research, and technology-led economic development in Rajasthan. The Jaipur campus will serve as a vital link between the state capital’s vibrant ecosystem and IIT Jodhpur’s national research leadership.
Congratulating the degree winners he said ‘Your hard work and sacrifices have made your dreams—and those of your parents—come true.’
In the lap of the Thar, IIT Jodhpur stands as a beautiful symbol of knowledge, where students will forever cherish sunsets at Mehrangarh and the flavours of this land, he said.
‘As India moves towards its 2047 vision, I am confident that IIT Jodhpur students will lead the way in sustainable tech solutions.’

The Manekshaw Centre of Excellence for National Security (MCoENSSR), launched in April 2025, positions IIT Jodhpur as a national hub for UAVs, anti-drone systems, stealth technologies, and directed energy weapons, he said.
The Centre also provides re-employment training for Agniveers and veterans and exemplifies Atmanirbhar Bharat in defense innovation, said IIT Jodhpur director.
