IIT Kanpur and ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth (ICICI Foundation) signed an MoU to work together on a Digital Health Stack project towards advancing and strengthening healthcare.
The Stack will be available for use in the public healthcare system, starting with the State of Uttar Pradesh, say sources from IIT Kanpur.
ICICI Foundation will support this initiative with significant fund requirement over multiple years. ICICI Foundation is the CSR arm of ICICI Bank.
Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Prof. J Ramkumar, Acting Dean of Resources and Alumni, IIT Kanpur, and Mr. Sanjay Datta, President, ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth.
The pact was signed in the presence of senior officials of ICICI Foundation and senior professors from IIT Kanpur.
Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Advisor to Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, graced the MoU ceremony virtually, say sources from IIT Kanpur.
The Stack aims at bringing a paradigm transformation in the space of public healthcare by combining technology, medical research and innovation.
The project involves development of MedTech devices, improving point-of-care (POC) services and strengthening the public healthcare capacity.
Further, it will help in detection of chronic diseases through AI integrated devices. The project will be housed in the IIT Kanpur campus.
Prof Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, said with the core expertise in Artificial Intelligence & Machine learning and thriving MedTech ecosystem, the Institute is well poised to provide necessary technological support to the mission of developing the Digital Health Stack.
