Students honoured with excellence awards – The moment was most memorable for the students when they won CEPT Gujral Foundation Excellence Award. The award is a result of five year institutional partnership between Gujral Foundation and CEPT University in Ahmadabad.

Arsh Kania, Hetanshu Pandya and Sharan GS were the proud students who won the award for studio excellence at CEPT University for the academic year 2019-2020. According to a press release, the award comprises a cash award of Rs 1 lakh.

The judge panel for deciding the winners comprised architect Bobby Desai, artist Walter de Souza, textile designer and entrepreneur Archana Shah and product designer Dinesh Shah.

The awards were given away in the presence of Dr. Bimal Patel, President, CEPT University, Samir Shah, Architect, KSA Design, Kartikey Shodhan, Architect, Kartikeya Shodhan Associates, Professor Tridip Suhrud, Provost, CEPT University, Hamid Raj, Senior visiting faculty and Mahendra Kothari, CEPT University alumnus.

The projects of the awardees were showcased at The CEPT Excellence Award Exhibition that was supported by The Gujral Foundation. The exhibition showcased the 10 best student projects and five best studio units in the form of drawings, models and portfolios from CEPT University’s Architecture, Design, Construction Technology and Planning Faculties. The exposition was conducted at Lilavati Lalbhai Library situated on the university premises.

Feroze Gujral, founder and director, The Gujral Foundation said they were honoured to be initiating this partnership with CEPT University, one of the country’s leading institutions. Besides having a deep personal connection to the institution and the city of Ahmedabad, where Mohit my husband and co-founder of the foundation studied architecture. Mohit Gujral returns to his Alma Mater by initiating a long-term partnership with CEPT University run under the directorship of Dr. Bimal Patel. CEPT emerged from the School of Architecture, founded by B.V. Doshi, one of modern Indian architecture’s most celebrated practitioners.

As part of this collaboration, each year there will be three main events led by the Foundation, annual excellence awards, a sculpture park which will feature works by leading contemporary artists and architects, workshops will run in conjunction with the park and immersive new courses on the Summer-Winter School curriculum.
