Admission criteria
Seats in these top AIIMS institutions in India are offered based on performance in entrance exams. Candidates must apply and pass the entrance exams.
The written tests must be passed with required qualifying marks to be eligible for the next phase of admission which comprises counselling and document verification.
Scores of the candidates in the competitive exams must either be above the cutoff score or equal to it. Cutoff is the minimum marks the candidates have to score in the exam to be eligible to take part in the next stage of admission process.
The minimum qualifying marks (cutoff score) is announced by authorities concerned along with the release of written exam results. Sometimes, the cutoff score could be declared either shortly before the announcement of results or after that.
Those who have passed the exam with required qualifying marks, can apply for counselling which is usually conducted in one or more rounds. Those who get a seat can convey their acceptance and join the course.
