Students are selected for MBA studies at IIM Ahmedabad based on their Class 10, Class 12, CAT qualifying, and CAT final cutoff scores. They are then invited to participate in additional selection phases, such as the Analytical Written Test and Personal Interview. Following the end of the selection rounds, a category-specific merit list is published based on the Final Composite Score. Additionally, students are shortlisted for admission to the ePGP course based on their CAT/ GMAT/ GRE/ IIMA Admission Test (IAT) scores. Then they are shortlisted for the WAT and PI rounds. Candidates for the ePGD-ABA programme must have a valid GMAT/GRE/CAT/GATE or ePGD-ABA qualifying-cum-aptitude test score.

Applicants seeking IIM Ahmedabad course admission 2024 for the two-year PGP at IIM-A must take the Common Admission Test (CAT). CAT 2023 (considered for admission to the 2024-26 batch) will be held in November 2023. Those seeking admission to the 2024-26 batch were allowed to apply online and register at www.iimcat.ac.in once the CAT registration process was available.
