NEET UG 2023 counselling, know the state-wise websites for it

NEET UG 2023 counselling dates will soon be announced and it is time for students aiming for medical and dental admissions to be prepared.

It is worth remembering that the medical seats in India are divided into 15% and 85% respectively. The 15% of medical seats across India are filled through All India Quota which is also called AIQ.

Rest of 85% of medical seats are filled through state quota by authorities concerned in the respective states. NEET UG 2023 counselling for both quotas are conducted by different authorities.

NEET UG 2023 counselling for AIQ is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) which comes under the Directorate General of Health Services of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India.

NEET UG 2023

The exam for undergraduate medical entrance was conducted on 7 May 2023 and over 20 lakh students appeared for the exam.

Results for NEET UG 2023 were announced on 13 June 2023 over 1145976 candidates have qualified for the exam. Students in large numbers were eagerly waiting for them.

The schedule for NEET UG 2023 counselling for AIQ would be out on the official website of MCC, while the same for state quota would be out on the official websites of authorities concerned with various states.

The expectation is that dates for NEET UG 2023 counselling will be announced by MCC either by the last phase of June or the first phase of July 2023.

Sources say the documents required for NEET UG 2023 counselling in Gujarat were announced recently by Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate & Postgraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC and ACPPGMEC).

The schedule would be announced soon. Similar announcements are likely to be made and candidates can follow the websites of counselling authorities of their respective states.

NEET UG 2023 counselling phases

NEET UG 2023 counselling will be conducted in more than one phase. The dates for each round will be informed on the websites of the authorities concerned.

Each phase in connection with NEET UG 2023 counselling will have an online filling of basic information, processing fee payment, certificate verification, option exercising after certificate verification, provisional allotment of seats, payment of tuition fees, and reporting at the allotted college.

How to register?

The process to register for NEET UG 2023 counselling is online and candidates have to visit the official websites.

The website for AIQ counselling registration is ‘https://mcc.nic.in/#/home’ The websites for state quota counselling are different for each state. Students can refer the table for the website then follow the process below:

1. The URL mentioned must be typed into the browser and the webpage must be allowed to download.

2. Once the webpage is ready, candidates can click the button for NEET UG 2023 counselling.

3. This will likely open another webpage.

4. After the other webpage opens, candidates have to click the link for NEET UG 2023 counselling and take up registration and choice filling and submit them.

After counselling registration

Candidates who have completed their choice filling in connection with NEET UG counselling will be allotted seats. Those who get seats can convey their acceptance and then pay the fees and join the course.
