Andhra Pradesh Government: Great, 100% tuition fee reimbursement for courses

Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to reimburse a 100 percent tuition fee for students of B.Tech who are from EBC, BC, Kapu, minority and PH categories.

It is said that Andhra Pradesh Government has reimbursed B.Tech fees for all the students for the academic session of 2019-20. An amount of Rs 1800 crore has been reimbursed.

Andhra Pradesh GovernmentHowever, the fee reimbursement for 2020-21 academic year will be made under Amma Vodi scheme, say sources. Andhra Pradesh Government has also brought out the revised rules with regards to reimbursement and they are said to have come into effect during the academic session of 2019-2020.

Andhra Pradesh Government is said to have reimbursed Rs 35,000 for B.Tech and B.Arch students. However as per the revised rules Andhra Pradesh Government is said to have decided to reimburse full fee.

Andhra Pradesh GovernmentReimbursement is said to be applicable irrespective of the exaxt fee structure of the college. Andhra Pradesh Government is said to have formed a committee comprising nine members to look into fixing the amount to be reimbursed for graduate engineering and architecture courses.

While the committee formed by Andhra Pradesh Government has suggested the reimbursement amount to be fixed at Rs 65,000, the same was approved to be at Rs 45,000 by Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Development Minister after many deliberations.

Reimbursed fees will get credited into the bank accounts of the parents of the students. At a regular interval of every three months.

It can also be recollected that Andhra Pradesh Government has rolled out Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme through which tuition fee incurred by students for various courses would be reimbursed.

Students hailing from families with income less than Rs 2,50,000 per annum can avail assistance under this scheme. Reimbursement of fees is done for ITI and Polytechnic courses also.

The scheme comes under the purview of Education Department of Andhra Pradesh Government. The scheme came into implementation on 28 April this year after a launch by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The official link regarding this is ‘ap.gov.in’ through this scheme a student who hails from below poverty line family will get Rs 20,000/- per annum for their tuition fee, Examination fee, food and hostel rent which will be reimbursed directly into the college account in some cases.

Students whose attendance is 75% or more will get benefits from this scheme. The tenure of the scheme is applicable until the student will complete his/her course.

Courses covered under the scheme by Andhra Pradesh Government for which reimbursement will be given is B.Tech, B.Pharmacy, ITI, Polytechnic, M.Tech, M.Pharmacy, MBA, MCA and B.Ed.

The eligibility for fee reimbursement is the applicants must be residents and native of Andhra Pradesh.

Students who are pursuing their program/courses in government-aided private colleges board and day scholar students and hostelers are eligible for the scheme but the college should be affiliated to state Universities/Boards.

If students are studying in deemed University then they are not eligible for the scheme. Students who are pursuing their studying degree courses via distance learning are not eligible for the scheme.

Similarly, students who have obtained seat in the management quota in their colleges are also not eligible for the scheme.

Candidates who fulfill the eligibility conditions must also have documents like Adhar Card, Proof of residence, Admission fee receipt, attendance certificate along with them to avail the benefits under Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme.

Even Income certificate (must produce the yearly income certificate), BPL and EWS certificates, Parents occupational certificates, declaration of non-tax payer, Bank account details (to disburse the scholarship) are also required. There is another scheme known as Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme which will provide for food, boarding and lodging of students.

Under this scheme an amount of Rs.10,000 per person for ITI students, Rs.15,000 per person for Polytechnic students and Rs.20,000 per person for other degree and above courses are provided per year.

The scheme of fee reimbursement is also being implemented for the people who are backward economically in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

The Fee Reimbursement Scheme is a student education sponsorship programme of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It supports students from lower economic strata in the state. The scheme covers professional programmes, including Bachelor’s in engineering, medicine, education and Master’s in Business Administration, Computer Applications.
