Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, was instituted in the year 1963 by Late.Dr. B.S.Jirge. JNMC envisions in becoming the Centre of Excellence in the field of medical education and research pertaining to both national and global standards. The KLE society to which the college belongs was found in 1916 which was mainly formed with a noble principle of educating the deprived society. Now it has grown into a huge firm which now operates more than 200 institutions. its service to the society is commendable and its centenary celebrations are set on fire. JNMC is one among the very few medical colleges which are wholly under the control of a university. KLEJNMC constitutes a Medical college with a 1000 bedded hospital which facilitates a theoretical and practical experience to go hand in hand simultaneously.
