Electronics and Power Engineering Course 2023 Electronics and Power Engineering is a branch of Electrical Engineering. It deals with the generation, transmission, and distribution of electric power and electrical devices connected to such systems including generators, motors, and transformers.
It also teaches the principles and practical aspects of converting electrical power from one form to another. BE/B.Tech in Electronics and Power Engineering is a 4-year program. Electronics and Power Engineering also teaches students how power electronics system and renewable energy resources will improve and transform electric power systems. One can pursue M.Tech in Electronics and Power Engineering after successful completion of BE/B.Tech.
This field of engineering is related with the the engineering study of converting electrical power from one form to another. Power electronics plays a important role in providing a power supported to the specifications. All the systems and machines that are used in the entire world depend upon power electronics to run efficiently and sustainably.
Power electronics is a bit different than the power engineering. Power Engineering is related with the generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electricity as well as the design of a range of related devices. Things like transformers, electric generators, electric motors and power electronics are included in this engineering aspect. These engineers are also suppose to work in the connections that are not in the grid connectivity.
The engineers of this field have to work in the applications like power supplies, converters, inverters, battery chargers, temperature control, variable speed motors. For this, they have to study the adaptation of electronic power systems to industrial processes.
Power electronics is also different from electronics because Electronics deals with transmission of information/signals in the form of electrical energy and the power electronics deals with transmission of electrical energy itself.
