  • Applicants for the degree courses should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (Standard XII under the 10+2 pattern prevalent in Tamil Nadu or its equivalent from other boards)
  • Candidates, who pass the All India Senior School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, will be eligible for admission provided they pass the examination with a minimum of five subjects of which English shall be compulsory. An applicant should produce an "Eligibility Certificate", from the University of Madras, at the time of interview.
  • Foreign students should provide a regular, long term student Visa issued by the respective Indian Embassy.
  • Applicants for the PG Courses should have obtained an undergraduate degree in the concerned subject or as per the eligibility required for the course.

Guru Nanak College, Chennai Admission Procedure

  • All candidates will be selected on the basis of merit only.
  • The "Merit list" of the selected candidates will be displayed on our College Website.
  • All admissions are provisional and are subjected to the approval of the University of Madras. Every Selected student should follow the code of conduct, prescribed by the college and the Government.
  • The selected candidates will be intimated for "Provisional Admission" by a message to the mobile number and e-mail (provided by the candidate at the time of registration) for Certificate verification.
  • The candidate will be admitted to the Programme only after the interview with the concerned Heads of the Department (HOD) and the Principal.
  • Candidates should report to the Department along with their Parent/Guardian at the time of admission.
  • Candidates should bring all original certificates along with required set of photocopies on the day of admission
  • Fees have to be paid on admission into the Course.
  • If the fee is not paid within the stipulated time the candidate will forfeit the seat. The seat will be allocated to the candidate who is next in the list.

Note:

  • Incomplete application / Preview Form will not be considered for the admission process.
  • If any discrepancy is found at the time of Certificate Verification, your admission stands cancelled.

Provisional selection of the Candidate can be cancelled, if the candidate does not attend the interview on the date allotted to them.

Guidelines for Filling up Online Application Form

Admission to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes

  • Read the instructions carefully before registering for a Programme.
  • E-mail ID and Mobile Number given at the time of registration should be valid and used throughout the admission process.
  • Candidates can apply for more than one Programme at a time for the same shift.
  • Separate applications have to be submitted for candidates who wish to apply for two shifts (Shift I - Government Aided Stream and Shift II - Self-financing Stream).
  • The Online Application Processing Fee for Shift - I (Government Aided Stream), Rs.50/- for UG Programme and Rs.60/- for PG Programme can be remitted online using Net Banking/Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI Transactions.
  • The Online Application Processing Fee for Shift - II (Self-financing Stream), Rs. 300/- for UG Programme, Rs. 400/- for PG Programme (M.Sc./M.Com./M.A. / MSW) and Rs. 500/- for Professional Programmes (MBA/MCA) can be remitted online using Net Banking/Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI Transactions.
  • No Online Application Processing Fee for SC/SCA/ST/PWD/Female/Transgender / Differently-abled applicants for their First Application.. (Note: If the documents (Community Certificate) uploaded/details provided are found to be incorrect / not readable, the application will be rejected).

Step 1: Registration Form (Minimal Form)

  • Fill the basic details in the minimal form
  • Proceed to payment. (Kindly wait for the message "Payment Successful". You will get a transaction message, save the same for your future reference). If the payment status is pending, please wait two working days or contact the admissions enquiry desk.
  • Your application will be processed only after payment is successful.
  • You will receive a "User name (Application Reference Number)" and "Password (Date of Birth)" to the registered Mobile Number and E-mail ID given at the time of registration. Further information will be communicated only to the registered Mobile Number and E-mail ID.

Step 2: Main Application Form

  • Fill the main form only after the publications of 12th results
  • You can check your Application Status using the user name (Application Reference Number) and Password (Date of Birth) on our college website www.gurunanakcollege.edu.in (Online Application Portal → Application Status) or through the link sent to your registered mail Id.
  • You can download the filled-in Application form from our college website www.gurunanakcollege.edu.in, by using the credentials sent to your registered mobile number and mail id (Online Application Portal → Application Status → Application Form)
  • The last date for submission of application form for the Shift - I (Government Aided Stream) UG Courses is the 10th day after the publication of the Higher Secondary School examination results of Government of Tamil Nadu and for the Shift - I (Government Aided Stream) PG Courses the 10th day after the publication of UG results by the University of Madras. After which the Application form will be considered as "Late Application".

Important Notice

  • Only applicants who have filled their main form will be considered for Admission.
  • The candidate shall be responsible for the information given in the online application form.
  • Kindly fill the main form (Step 2), once your plus two results are published.
  • Once you submit your main form, you will not be allowed to edit.
  • Incomplete application / Preview Form will not be considered.
