This university was created by integrating all the Institutions running under the trust and all Institutions have been converted to the faculties of University. The university provides various courses at different levels as Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PG Certificate, PG Diploma, and Doctoral Programs. The streams in which they provide education and degree are Engineering, Design, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Dental Studies, and Pharmacy courses, etc.

The university was founded under the under the Karnataka University Act. The creation of RUAS brought together several well-established educational institutions of the Ramaiah Group, reorienting them to a changing present and an unpredictable future. In all these years, they have created a distinct brand identity for themselves which is targeted around academia, industry, and society.
They want to create professionals who are well blend in all these and the ones who work tirelessly to mould the thinkers of tomorrow. The vision of the college is to be a premier university of choice in Asia and create a student-centric professional education system that lays emphasis on applied research while maintaining the highest academic and ethical standards.

The college offers scholarships in three categories. All the students who find themselves eligible for any of these scholarships must apply for the same. The college is doing their bit to provide as much assistance as needed for the students in cutting their fee down.
First Scholarship - The very first scholarship is the government scholarship. It is the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of Higher Education) Government of India that awards scholarships to the students who have passed Class XII with a minimum score of 80% or equivalent Examination and whose parental income is less than or equal to INR 4.5 Lakhs.
Under this scholarship, Post Metric Scholarship to SC/ST Students is also provided whose parental income is below or equal to 250000/- per annum.
Second Scholarship - The second scholarship that is provided by the college and is called as the defence scholarship. This scholarship is provided by the The Department of Technical Education, Govt. of Karnataka. This is for the children of defense personnel. Only UG level students are eligible for this scholarship.

The campus of the college is huge and totally modern with all the latest amenities one could name. The campus is obviously fully wi-fi equipped because that is the need of the hour in teaching and learning. There are various cultural activities performed in the campus to keep the students entertained and encouraged.
Lots of sports and fitness related game sessions are also organised by the college. They have annual athletic meets as well. For the student development, there are different clubs to teach them well.
The college has various off campus and on campus accommodation or hostel facilities. The on campus accommodation provided by them are Saptagiri Ladies Hostel, Gomati Ladies Hostel, and Ganga Boys Hostel which are in the GNANAGANGOTHRI CAMPUS.
The off campus accommodation are Star 555 Boys Hostel which is in the GNANAGANGOTHRI CAMPUS and the Star 555 Ladies Hostel which is in the PEENYA Campus. In the PEENYA CAMPUS, the on campus accommodation is Vivekananda Hostel. The off campus accommodation in this campus are Star 555 Ladies Hostel, Star 555 Boys Hostel (GG Campus), Star 555 Boys Hostel, and Star 555 Boys Hostel.
