Eligibility for BTET 2022

Age limit

The minimum age limit of the applicants is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 35 years. Age relaxation of 5% will be offered to the female/SC/ST/OBC applicants depending upon the reservation criterion defined by the examination authorities.

Educational qualification

Paper 1 

Candidates who have completed their graduation in B.SC/ BA/ B. Ed. degree with at least 50% marks can apply for BTET 2022. The students who are appearing in the Final Four Year Bachelor of Elementary Education/a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or a 2-year Diploma in Special Education can also apply for this exam. 

Applicants should have passed Class X with at least 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent.

Paper 2

The candidates who have completed their Graduation with a minimum of 45% marks and passed/ appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) can apply for BTET 2022.

Even those who those who have completed their graduation with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)/ passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed can also apply.

Candidates who have completed their graduation and passed/appearing in the final year of 2-year D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) are also eligible to apply for BTET 2022.

 

Exam pattern for BTET 2022

The exam will be conducted in offline mode and will have two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to become teachers for primary classes (classes 1 to 5) and Paper 2 is for candidates targeting teachers positions for teaching upper primary classes (classes 6 to 8). Applicants can appear for either of the papers or both. 

The questions will be in multiple choice format in both the papers and time frame to answer questions is 2 hours 30 minutes each for both the papers. The total questions in each of the papers is 150 and total marks each is 150. The exam pattern is provided below for the sake of the candidates in a tabular format:
