Eligibility Criteria for CDS Exam 2022

Applicants should verify their eligibility to look within the entrance check. The prescribed CDS eligibility criteria are as under:

Nationality

  • Candidates must be an Indian citizen, or
  • A subject of Bhutan/Nepal or
  • A Tibetan expatriate United Nations agency came around to Asian nation before January first, 1962 with Associate in Nursing intention to settle here for good, or
  • A person of Indian origin migrated from Myanmar, Pakistan, land & geographic region countries of an African country, Kenya, the United Republic of African country, Malawi, Zaire & Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, African country or Vietnam with Associate in Nursing intention to settle here for good.
  • Candidates apart from Asian should get the certificate of eligibility from the involved department of the govt. of India. However, candidate’s happiness to Gorkha subjects of Nepal ar exempted to provide the certificate of eligibility.

Age Limit and Marital Status

  • Indian Military Academy (IMA): Unmarried male candidates, born between 2nd January 1998 to 1st January 2003 are eligible.
  • Indian Naval Academy (INA): Unmarried male candidates, born between 2nd January 1998 to 1st January 2003 are eligible.
  • Air Force Academy (AFA): The age of the candidate must be within 20 to 24 years as on crucial date i.e. 1st January 2022. Therefore, candidates born between 2nd January 1998 and 1st January 2002 are eligible to apply. Upper age limit for the candidates having current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA is relaxed upto 26 years, hence, such candidates must be born between 2nd January 1996 to 1st January 2002
  • For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Course for Men): Unmarried male candidates, who are born between 2nd January 1997 to 1st January 2003 will be eligible to apply.
  • For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Women Non-technical Course): Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (having possession of divorce document) who have not remarried are eligible to apply. Such candidates must be born between 2nd January 1997 and 1st January 2003.

Educational qualification

  • Indian Military Academy and Officers’ Training Academy– Candidates must possess a bachelor degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
  • Indian Naval Academy– Candidates having a bachelor degree in Engineering from a recognized university/Institution will be eligible for CDS exam.
  • Air Force Academy– Bachelor of Engineering or a graduation degree with Physics and Mathematics subjects at 10+2 level from a recognized institute/University.
  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in the final semester/year of degree course will also be eligible provided that candidate should submit a provisional pass certificate during the interview or in the later stage of selection process.

Physical and Mental commonplace

  • Apart from fulfilling the preceding eligibility conditions, candidates ought to be physically and mentally work and will fulfill all the physical standards prescribed for the CDS test.

Exam Pattern for CDS Exam 2022

The candidates must know the exam pattern before they commence their preparation plan.   • The CDS test is going to be conducted in offline mode i.e. Pen & Paper-based mode.
  • Questions are going to be of multiple choice format.
  • The medium of the test would be english and hindi except in English section.
  • The penalty of 1/3rd marks are going to be obligatory on the incorrect try because the negative marking is applicable. Every wrongly answered question will lose 1/3rd mark.
  • The answer sheet should be clean and wrinkle-free.
  • Candidates are suggested circling answer properly because the OMR sheets ar checked by machines and improper marking of the circle might not appraise by the machine.
  • Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy and Indian Naval Academy aspirants have to answer questions related to English, Elementary Mathematics, General Knowledge. The total marks are 300 and each subject questions should be answerd in 2 hours. The total time is 6 hours.
  • Aspirants for OTA have to answer questions related to English and General Knowledge. The total marks are 200 and duration is 2 hours each for both subjects. The total duration is 4 hours.
