Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG 2026) Online

CUCET UG 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the CUET(UG) eligibility criteria NTA sets for admission to undergraduate courses before filling out their application form. The eligibility parameters are as follows:

  • The students who have completed their Class 12 or equivalent exam can apply for the CUET 2026 exam. 
  • Students in class 12 who still need to take their board exam can also apply.
  • Candidates must be Indian citizens to be eligible for the CUET Entrance test.
  • There is no specific age limit for the CUET 2026 Entrance exam; however, candidates must meet any age criteria set by the University/Institution/Organisation to which they wish to apply.

Exam Pattern for CUCET UG 2026

The test will be conducted in online mode, and the answers have to be marked on a computer at the test centres, which will be situated in various parts of the country and also outside the nation. The exam will have three parts, the first one is dedicated to languages that are either English or any Indian language.

The second paper will be related to the subject in which the candidate wishes to pursue graduation. The third paper is all about general ability, comprising general knowledge, current affairs, general science, numerical ability and others. All three papers will have 45 minutes each to answer questions. A candidate can choose to appear in one subject or more than one. More details are available in the table below:

Questions distribution

Section 1A Languages There are 13 different languages. Any of these languages may be chosen.  40 questions to be attempted out of 50 in each language
Section 1B Languages There are 20 Languages. Any of these languages may be chosen. 40 questions to be attempted out of 50 in each language
Section 2 Domain There are 27 Domains specific subjects being offered under this section. A candidate may choose any subject as desired by the applicable University/ Universities.  35/ 40 Questions to be attempted out of 45/ 50
Section 3 General Test For any such undergraduate programme/programmes being offered by Universities where a General Test is being used for admission 50 Questions to be attempted out of 60
Points to remember

1. From the above subjects/ languages, candidates can choose a maximum of 10 subjects from all three sections

2. Examination will be conducted on multiple days in three shifts, depending on the number of Candidates and Subject choices.
