About GRE 2022

Graduate Record Exam 2022 Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is well-known with those students who wish to make it to foreign shores for availing quality education for a better life. The test is quite different from other exams as it is not conducted for offering admissions but is held to know the readiness of the candidate to take up higher education in the institution abroad.

ETS (Educational Testing Service) conducts the exam that is taken by lots of people world over. ETS was founded in 1947, is the world's largest private nonprofit educational testing and assessment organization. The test has two parts - GRE General Test and GRE Subject Test. 

GRE General Test attempts to analyze the analytical writing, quantitative ability, and verbal reasoning skills of the candidates. GRE Subject Test evaluates the candidates’ ability on a particular subject.

Candidates should note that the GRE Subject Tests only extend to Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology. The duration to answer questions in GRE General is 3 hours and 30 minutes. The same for GRE Subject is 2 hours 50 minutes. The test is conducted in online, offline and remote proctored mode. 

The test can be taken by all those who wish to study in a foreign college. Individuals who wish to take up the test can visit the official website and register themselves and fill the application form by providing the required information and then choose the date and time on which they wish to take the examination and pay the money and submit the application form. Candidates can register for the exam either from their home or at the designated registration centres which are located across India. 

Post registration (application submission) candidates can either visit the designated centre to take appear for the test as per the scheduled time and date which was booked during the registration process and take the test. There is a facility to appear for the test even from the comfort of their homes. Those who wish to appear for GRE from the comfort of their home must ensure they have the computer with required configuration and good net connectivity. The test scores are available usually within 10 or 15 days after the exam is written. 

GRE General is conducted through out the year on different dates and time and candidates can choose the date and time for writing the exam while submitting the application form. GRE Subject Tests are offered at paper-delivered test centres  located across the world, three times a year - September, October, and April.
