Syllabus for Civil Services Exam 2022

Civil Services Exam 2022 will not only test the subject knowledge of the applicants but also will analyse the general problem solving skills. The questions in the exam will be related to the subjects that candidates have studied to obtain the degree (educational qualification). 

Individuals have to field queries related to general knowledge, language skills, general aptitude also in the exam. Candidates have to even familiarise themselves with topics related to general knowledge, current affairs, international affairs. Questions related to the above topics will be asked in both objective and subjective formats in prelims and mains. The syllabus is mentioned below for the sake of the candidates:

Prelims

Paper 1 

  • Current events of national and international importance.
  • History of India and Indian National Movement.
  • Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
  • Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
  • Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
  • General issues on Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialisation
  • General Science

Paper 2

  • Comprehension
  • Interpersonal skills including communication skills
  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability
  • Decision-making and problem solving
  • General mental ability
  • Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) – Class X level)
  • Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. – Class X level)
