About IIADEE 2022 

Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) conducts entrance exam to provide admissions into various graduate and postgraduate courses offered by it. The exam conducted by IIAD is known as IIADEE and is conducted every year for admitting students into undergraduate courses - BA Hons ( Fashion Design), BA Hons ( Communication Design), BA Hons ( Interior Architecture and Design), BA Hons (Fashion Business Management). 

The postgraduate courses offered through this exam are - Fashion Design and Fashion Business Management. Candidates can apply for the exam online and have to take up the exam in online and offline mode. The screening process at IIAD aims to test the merit of a candidate based on their aptitude for design learning. 

The IIAD Entrance test has two components, which vary based on the course one applies for. They are IDAT and IMAT. IDAT (IIAD Design Aptitude Test) is a written test designed to assess a candidate’s creative and visual ability, cultural awareness and logical thinking. The exam paper is a combination of visual tasks, writing tasks, one-word answers and multiple choice questions.

The other component is IMAT (IIAD Management Aptitude Test). It is a written test designed to assess an applicant’s language, logical reasoning and creative thinking. The exam paper is a combination of multiple choice questions and writing tasks. Candidates planning to takeup the courses - Fashion Design, Communication Design, Interior Architecture & Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design (postgraduate) have to take up IDAT exam. 

Aspirants for Fashion Business Management (undergraduate and postgraduate) have to take up IMAT exam. Post these exams, applicants have to take part in either studio round or personal interview depending on the type of the course they wish to apply.
