Indian Law Institute Common Admission Test 2024 Offline

Eligibility criteria for ILICAT 2022

Applicants should have LL.B. Degree (with not less than 50% marks) from any University/Institution recognized by Bar Council of India as eligible for enrolment as an advocate in India. 

OR

A Law Degree from a foreign university with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade as per Association of Indian University (AIU) guidelines.

The candidates appearing in the qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply but their admission will be subject to production of proof of having acquired minimum prescribed qualification, at the time of admission. If the result of the qualifying examination is not declared till the date of admission, his/her admission shall be provisional.

Such candidate shall give an undertaking that he/she is taking the provisional admission at his/her risk and that he/she shall submit the result of qualifying examination. In case the candidate fails to submit his/her final result of qualifying examination to prove his/her eligibility for any reason whatsoever, his/her admission shall be treated as cancelled.

Exam pattern for ILICAT 2022

The exam is conducted in both offline mode and has three sections, two of them have questions in objective type and one has questions for which reply should be provided in descriptive manner. The total marks are 180 and duration to complete answering is 2.5 hours or 2 hours 30 minutes. There is negative marking in the exam with regards to objective type questions. 

Every correct answer will fetch one mark and a every wrong reply will lose 1/4th mark. More information about the pattern is provided below in a tabular format for the sake of the students:
