Educational qualification
(A) Candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree with subjects related to Sciences/Mathematics/Social Sciences (History/ Geography/ Economics/ Political Sciences/ Psychology/ Philosophy/ Education/ Library Science)/Humanity Sciences (including all Languages and Literature like – English, Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, Pali-Prakrit, etc. studied as Optional/ Special Subject at Graduation)/Commerce.
The pass percentage in the qualifying exam should be 50% for candidates for General category. The same is minimum 45% marks for Backward Class categories from State of Maharashtra belonging to SC, ST, VJ-DT NT-(A), NT1-(B), 5 NT-2-(C), NT-3-(D), OBC, and SBC (44.50% and above to be considered as 45%).
(B) Candidates who have passed Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with subjects in Engineering or Technology/(Science and Mathematics as a special subject)/Bachelor’s Degree and or Master’s Degree with the subjects Management/Engineering/Computers/Law/Information-Technology/Agriculture/BBI/Medical Sciences/All Social Sciences/Fine Art/Performing Art (Music/Dance/Drama) can also apply.

Nationality
Applicants should be citizens of India. Even candidates from other states can also apply. There is no upper age limit.
The test is for a duration of 90 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes) and the questions to be answered qare 100. Not more than a minute is to be allotted to work out solutions for a single question. Every rightly answered question gets one mark and there is no negative marking.
Candidates who are aspiring to joing english medium institutions for doing a BEd course must attempt another test known as ELCT (English Language Contest Test) which tests the english language skills of the candidates. ELCT has 50 questions in multiple choice format which have to be answered in 60 minutes. More information is provided below in the tabular format:
