About RRB ALP Exam

RRB ALP Exam 2022 or RRB ALPE 2022 Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts Assistant Loco Pilots Exam (ALP or ALPE) to recruit personnel into Indian Railways for the position of Assistant Loco Pilots and Technicians. The notification for the exam is released at the appropriate time every year and candidates can begin submitting applications soon after the release of the notification.

Applications can be submitted online and the exam has three stages - Computer Based Test (Stage 1 and Stage 2) and Computer Based Aptitude Test. Candidates who pass these tests can appear for document verification. Post verification, candidates will be allotted vacancies based on their choice and availability of vacancies. 

Candidates first attend Stage 1 of the exam which has questions related to mathematics, reasoning, general science and current affairs. They have to appear for Stage 2 which has two parts - Part 1 would be having questions related to  maths, reasoning, basic science, current affairs and engineering. Part 2 will have questions connected to the technical knowledge of specific trade. 

Applicants who opt for the position of Assistant Loco Pilots have to appear for Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) after clearing Part 1 and Part 2 of Stage 2. Candidates who apply for the Assistant Loco Pilots only have to appear for CBAT.
