Eligibility criteria for SSC CGL Exam 2022

Age limit

Applicants must be in the age group of 18 to 32 years. There is however age relaxation for candidates of certain categories. The details are provided below:

Nationality

Applicants must be a citizen of India and must be residing in any of the state or union territory of India. Even others can also apply and details are below:

4.1.2. Applicant can be a subject of Nepal, or

4.1.3 a subject of Bhutan, or

4.1.4 a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

4.1.5 a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire,
Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

4.2 Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (4.1.2), (4.1.3), (4.1.4) and (4.1.5) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

4.3 A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

Junior Statistical Officer

Essential Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at Class 12

OR

  • Any Bachelor degree with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level

Assistant Section Officer (CSS)

Essential Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from recognized University or Institute

Additional Qualification:

  • Candidates have to qualify for Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)

Compiler

Essential Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from recognized University or Institute

Additional Qualification:

  • Candidates should have studied Statistics or Economics or Mathematics as a compulsory or elective subject

All Other Posts

Any bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or Institute

Exam pattern for SSC CGL Exam 2022

The exam has four stages - Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4. Tier 1  and Tier 2 are conducted online. The exam pattern for all the stages is provided below for the sake of the candidates:

SSC CGL Exam Pattern For Tier 3

Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi (Essay Writing, Précis Writing, Letter Writing, Application writing, etc.)

For candidates using Scribes, the time limit is 1 hour and 20 minutes i.e. 80 minutes.

Tier 4

Data Entry Speed Test (DEST)

This test evaluates the typing skills of the candidate. Candidates are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes in the English language. The test is conducted for those aiming at the post of Tax Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax).

Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) 

This test is conducted to check a candidate’s proficiency in computer operations and is divided into three sections - Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Generation of Slides. For each section, the duration of the test is 15 minutes and these tests happen one after another.
