Eligibility criteria for SSC JHT Exam 2022

Educational qualification

 

Posts Educational Requirements
Junior Translator in Central Secretariat Official Language Service (CSOLS)
  • Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
  • Or, Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
  • Or, Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level
And, Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.
Senior Hindi Translator in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/Offices
  • Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
  • Or, Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level;
  • Or, Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level
And, Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or three years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.
Hindi Pradhyapak in Central Hindi Training Institute (CHTI)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Master’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Or, a Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus a Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus a Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Desirable: Two years of experience teaching Hindi at the Senior Secondary level under Central or State Governments or recognized educational Institutions.
 
 
Age limit
Applicants must be in the age limit of 18 to 30 years. However, there is a relaxation for candidates of certain categories. The details about the relaxation are provided below for the sake of the candidates:

Nationality

The applicants must be citizens of India and residents of any state or union territory of India. Candidates from other countries who have come to India in the past with a motive of permanently settling here can also apply. However, they must be having required certificates to take part in the examination. The details about this are provided below:

  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A Tibetan refugee (came to India before January 01, 1962), or
  • A person of Indian origin (who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, Vietnam, etc. with the intention of permanent settlement in India. A candidate who is not a citizen of India needs to possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India in his favour, otherwise, he/she won’t receive the offer of appointment.

 

 

Exam pattern for SSC JHT Exam 2022

SSC JHT Exam 2022 will have two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 has questions in objective type format and Paper 2 will have questions in descriptive format. The duration for answering the questions in both the papers is two hours each. Information about the exam pattern is provided in the tabular format below for the sake of the candidates:
